This was an utter poop show. I'm 65. Been a hockey fan since the 6 team league. Started my high school career in 1969. Yeah, I've seen it all. This was with out a doubt the single worst performance I have ever seen!!!!
I literally felt like I had been punched in the face. I turned it off after two. Was rooting for 8 or 9 more.
I've learned towards MJLs take so far. Dont do stupid stuff.
No more. I'm in on Coots, Farabee and Hart. Since the rest of the team has no heart, F U C K THEM ALL TO HELL!!

Game after game, same lost team. Same crap.
One last thing. Who the (frank) is this "core" I keep hearing about. First, the only guys here since 2012 are G, Coots and Jake. Going no where. Jake's contract takes care of that. G is comfy here and coots has been their best player for 5 years.
I dont care who goes besides them.
Just for poops and giggles I'll watch tonight to laugh at them.
At the end of the day I feel betrayed! I've watched and rooted for them since I arrived in Bucks in 78. This was a gutless non caring performance.
I love the team. Want them to do well. Some may call me a fair weather fan. I've watched the rebuild. I've watched the games. Paid for the NHL package. When doing well, I read every word here and everything else I can find. When losing, not so much. I'll watch the games, but now in the background.

I enjoy a good game. I want them to win but this is supposed to be entertainment. I can deal with losing a good exciting game, even a loss.

Core to me is Jake and g. Some of the supporting pieces like laughts Jvr and raffl have been here a bit. Not sure what moves you can or want to make, but it doesn’t look like the current group is working. If there’s a hockey trade for Jake for example salary for salary, I’d explore it. Again, I like Jake but maybe it’s time to mix up chemistry in t he group.

Even Keith Jones last night said after the game, that this is the type of loss that has lasting effects, that its typically not able to be overcome on a team. So I am sure the Flyers will come out angry tonight and may even come out of the 1st period up a goal or two. But after that it will be more of the same and in the end, another loss to a better team.

Instead of this nonsense, what would you have done In that situation to be a leader, Messier?

Yes you can call this 70s goon hockey if you like, but sometimes its a not bad thing, and last night it was needed! There was ZERO push back from the Flyers, ZERO! That is completely and entirely an indictment on the leadership of this team, because they are the ones that have to invoke it within every one else on the bench.

Agreed .. its more than time for a major shake up. Also, I came into this season a big Hayes fan based on his play last season and even at the start of this season, but I'm really starting to turn on him. Hayes has been nothing more than just another passenger on the train to nowhere, and for the money he is making, that is just not good enough.

The point being, and I dont disagree about the team lacking a physical edge, other than gooning it up, it doesnt do a goddanm thing to stop the mental breakdowns that were occuring time after time during that 2nd period

Losses like that not only shake confidence in yourself, but it also shakes the confidence you have in your team mates.

I already felt like these players weren't very confident in each other. And it was manifesting itself in how they were out there trying to do too much. Getting out of position etc etc etc.

That IMO stems from the fact they don't think the guy out there is going to be able or willing to do HIS job so he thinks he needs to cover for him as well. Then the whole thing collapses.

This team needs a major shakeup. Be it a trade, sitting a top player, what have you.

I just see a team that doesn't trust each other to do their jobs. Its up to the coach to get them to worry about themselves on the ice. Do YOUR job and no one else's, because that is THEIR job. This is where AV earns his money.

It has NOTHING to do with turning the game around, its about showing character, showing fight. This team had zero push back, and this speaks volumes to the core character and culture of this team. We have all wondered why this team can't play 60 minutes of good hockey. Heck even AV wondered that in his presser last game. Well this is the answer, the culture and character of this team is OFF BASE, and the only way you change culture is starting with the leadership.
