Sad stat is that Lucic has 3 goals & 3 assists in 6 games with Sutter. That is more than Gaudreau & Monahan combined during the same period. These two have to start playing up to their $13.0 mill per cap. I really honestly think its time to break those two up & play them together only on the PP. - Kevin R
I gotta say Lucic was a lot better than I thought he would be against the leafs. Made a lot of quick smart passes.
15 goal pace over 82 games, 30 points. Not ideal but still a scary guy out there to deal with.
Getting a lot more value out of him than Neal, thats for sure. |

I feel like Walt would be more invasive in his son's career than Drunken Super Mario Gaudreau. - Ol_Boy_Wop

Gaudreau is to soft. Yeah he scored a nice goal but was way to weak on the boards on the winning goal. Horrible! Maybe we should fire sutter? - pzoxic
He’s not paid to check.
What gets me is as soon as the Flames tied it they seemed happy to get to ot. They had no answer for Ottawa’s pushback. |

Well the Flames blow, but Looch did assist on Johnny's goal... rmull905 - bsimms
Sure. Doesn't mean his hands are any better than Ritchie's... The number of times I've seen perfect passes just bounce off Looch's stick are just too many. He's not a fit on that line. More and more, I'm agreeing with the point that the Flames test Philips up there.
The best years for Johnny and Mony, they've had skill on their right side. Lindholm, Hudler, Ferland to a degree... Get some legit skill back on that line and see what happens.
I keep going back to it, this team was just fine until that players only meeting. Something seems to have broken inside that room. |

True - but he's gotta at least play a little defense. In his first couple of years in the league, what I recall of Johnny back then was that he was more like Datsyuk. He would dangle, he could score, he would give the puck up occasionally but he was a wizard at taking it right back from you. That's GONE. He halfheartedly jabs his stick in the general direction of the puck while standing 4 feet away from the guy he's "checking". It's god awful watching him even think about playing defense.
I don't expect him to actually make physical contact or go hard into the corner... but jebus, have a little pride. |

Good thing Sutter is there to bring some class to the franchise...
- LordHumungous
That’s what the league has become, bunch whiney self entitled pukes. In the good old days this would have sparked a bench brawl.
Maybe that’s what this team needs.
I see Bubbles popped last night! |
