Don’t think The Sabres will be below the Cap floor of 60 million. - nyisles7
Not with Skinner and Okposo still on the books. |

They’ll find a way to get salary if it comes to that which it won’t they’re not taking on a player like Ladd and his contract without some picks. That’s not how this works. No offense but have you been living under a rock since the start of the salary cap era? |

It would suck to ruin that awesome chemistry that line has going but we have to do what we have to do... |

Is Taylor Hall the answer? Would bring what JGP brought a year ago and is still bringing? I am 50/50.
I am70/30 with Palmieri. |

If Palmieri resigns with the Devils I believe Foligno would be Lou’s next target. If the BJ’s are still in the PO picture at the deadline then he isn’t going to be traded either.
I don’t think as most on here don’t think Hall fits the Trotz/Lou Islander player. |

There was some talk of Foligno. I can see that also but I’m hoping for Palmieri. |

Me too, just like last year with JGP, I think Palmieri fits the Team Mold Trotz and Lou are looking for. Something needs to be done as Barzal truely misses the space that Lee creates for him in the O zone.
That said, question , Foligno and Palmieri are off the board, do you go after Hall?

I think you have too and hope for the best if there are no other options (Rakell or someone nobody is thinking about?). We have to add someone to the line up especially since Trotz seems to hate Bellows (frank)ing guts |

Yeah as much as his reputation says you don’t.
Bellows for one reason or another ( play away from puck ) seems to be in Trotz’s doghouse.
Seems like the Palmieri negotiations aren’t baring fruit for either side right now and I do believe Lou will get his man if Fitzgerald doesn’t want the Queens ransom for him.
Lou’s angle could be, we don’t have room to sign him next year. He purely a rental and he can sign back with the Devils in the off season.
Then Lou kicks Ladd to The LTIR and we sign him
Not sold on Rakell, we have enough inconsistent forwards as far as scoring. |

Palmieri is the best fit for the Islanders at this time. He will be 31 next year so we could extend him if we have the room. If in the event that lee is still on LTIR for the start of the season. We might be able to extend him. We are looking at 5 million plus with Pelech and 7 or 8 with sorokin If he wins an award. Cizikas and beau are due contacts as well. That is also why I mentioned ladd to buffalo yesterday that would be huge |

Agreed on Palmieri and Lou will get his man.
Firstly I don’t think there’s an award that he’s eligible for that he doesn’t win. That was prior to game 1. That said, 7 or 8 million is way too much for him. Some on here including Dan thought he was getting 5 million this year which obviously never happened. I think his next contract will be closer to 5 than 7 or 8 imho. |

Rookie of the year he could win. Also MDC is out both games vs Pittsburgh. Could see Johnston come in or put Leo in his place |

He could win the Calder but don’t think he will because of the shared duty with Varly effecting the amount of games played and also because of the strength in defense of the team in front of him.
Tough for a goalie to win. |
