Last night's giveaway was not on Gostisbehere. It was on Farabee. - MJL
I have a different opinion.
In addition to what we can at least agree was a less than successful puck transfer from F to G, had Elliott not moved quite so far to his left he'd have been able to get back to the right post in time.
A classic Flyers trifecta of small errors compounding. |

He could and should have controlled the pass...he did what he always does and reacts badly. I watched the play multiple times. Farabees pass was off, but that doesn't excuse Ghost - DANCER
The entire play happened because Farabee made a poor decision to stop moving his feet and let Beauvillie close on him. He ran out of options so he launched a pass thru the defender into Ghost's skates. Then Farabee let Beauvillie beat him to the net and didn't do much to contest the wraparound.
(and Elliott played the wraparound badly) |

Dude, I know you like the guy, and he had a good game except for this, but what do you mean the pass was in his skates? Here is a snapshot after Farabee has finished the pass (you can his stick is on the follow through)
There are ~ 50 feet of clear ice between the two players. Ghost cannot move his body to avoid it getting in his skates?
You know why it is in his skates? Because right after this instant, he is already committed to skating fast towards Bee. he thinks Bee is in more trouble than he is. His forward momentum prevents him from moving a bit more towards Moose which would have allowed him to not be so handcuffed. |

Farabee way to much time to not make a good pass. The appears to be between Ghost stick and skates, just a bad place. Ghost chose his stick to receive it, maybe he should have used his skates. It is a play he can make? yes.
Honestly, Isles goalie stole the show and Elliot didn't do much all game, he needed that save not matter if it was Ghost or Farabee. |

not sure I see the same thing, Ghost was curling to make himself available for the pass and the pass handcuffed him, that simple |

The pass could've been better but given that it wasn't, imho 53 was lazy / careless situationally unaware in his attempt to receive it.
Plenty of mistakes all around that last sequence. |

Didn't the Flyers have a 4 on 2, Ghost had the puck on the left wing at the blue time, plenty of real estate in front of him, and he passed it right into traffic, which resulted in a turn over and the puck exiting the zone? - Robert's Plant

Opinions vary, fair enough. It was a poor pass for sure.
But imo Ghost had enough time to adjust, and even if he cannot, the pass cannot go so far away from him into empty ice in OT. |

The goal is on the team. Yes individuals can be blamed. I blame the p p at the end of regulation spilling over into o t that they did not capitalize on. How bout I blame that. Hahaha. |

See...that is where I see it exactly the opposite. Ellis seems quicker to anger, asserts himself more abruptly. To me Ekholm seems to have the demeanor of a larger (but slightly less skilled) Kimmo. - juiced
Realistic trade proposals for Ekholm, Ellis?
For me, I would think conversation starts with Myers/Sanheim or a very good prospect. I would think Ellis costs both Myers/Sanheim and a prospect/1st round pick. |

Here's a shot of the moment the puck hit his stick. It's so far into his skates that his stick is completely perpendicular to the ice. Remember, it was a pretty hard pass too (look at that stick flex from impact):
Was a risky play by Farabee there. Either rim it around, skate the puck back behind the net, or eat the puck on the wall and wait for help. It's 4V4, there so much time and space, no idea why he would put himself in that position.
Ghost came back from the NZ to present himself as a passing option, but the Islander was already on top of Farabee, so he stopped curling and started skating toward the puck to provide help. Then the pass came. |

Ghost is like G with the puck in some ways, you just expect him to catch every pass. that is a tough pass to handle. If he does, no one thinks a thing but if not....

Thing is, why is he in that position? Look at the img I posted when the puck has left Bee's stick and there is 50 feet of ice. It seems to me he either misjudged the pace or the angle of the pass that was coming (both are to be faulted, no doubt).
If he takes one more quick stride towards goal, puck could land on his blade forehand.
I would make the following break up of blame:
25% Bee for first pass
25% Ghost for not adjusting at all.
35% Moose for a sclerotic adjustment.
15% Bee for being brushed off as though he was not there on the wraparound.

I think there is plenty of blame go around but Bee probably gets about 60%, he had plenty of time to make a good play. Then Moose just a bad effort 30%, Ghost can have 10%

It was a bad pass. The goal is on Farabee twice for the pass and not keeping his man from sweeping around the net, and on Elliot for over committing on the wrap around.
Ghost did nothing wrong. And if Farabee does his job the pass deflecting to the opposite side of the ice is a setback. - MBFlyerfan

If we can upgrade a D spot by moving one of them and and a pick or prospect over having to move one of the young forwards I’m all for it. |

I am an Islanders fan but I follow the Flyers very closely. I think they should go out and get Someone with an edge. Like Wilson Marchand Ross Johnston a Matt Martin. I see the Flyers making the playoffs but I don't see them challenging Washington or the Islanders . Both teams punish you with there style of play. |
