Ya, that is more realistic.
I do hope they go with the 3 centres Bo, Miller and Elias.
Podkolzin Bo Brock
Gadjovich Elias Lind
Hoglander Miller Jake
As an example. - Reubenkincade
I would keep top 6 together for now. Minus Pearson.
Podz Miller Petey
Hogz Bo Boes
Lind Danault Vesey
Zac Beagle Motte
Virtanen
Hughes, rathbone, OJ for lefties.
Hamonic, Myers, and pick up a better righty. Hamilton or cernak or pulock or savard. |

Aside from Tyler Myers, every single #Canucks
player had a positive Corsi for percentage in this game. They lost 5-1. Take that, NERDS

Oh man. This isn't helping my case to not get rid of Myers. |

That tweet with Hamonic giving the puck to Myers was just a real bad play from Hamonic.
As you can see from the shift timer, Myers had already been on the ice for well over 2 minutes, has a forward bearing down on him and Hamonic had lots of room to skate the puck further up ice.
When this play originally happened, I questioned why Hamonic was even on the ice, as Benn, the left side defender had just changed up and the nextt left defender up was Hughes, so either Hamonic jumped on for Benn, when he wasn't supposed to or Baumgartner sent him out, instead of Hughes, for some reason. |

I would think 1 or 2 things every Canuck fan can agree upon, they badly need a 3rd line centre...as well as a minute munching, all-situations defender, preferably a right hand shot. |

3lc that can play the 2nd pk spot and still put up at around 35 points.
That rhd minute munching guy was Dobson for me. Hughes has been great for what he brings. Im hoping Woo takes a nice step forward. Just need him to become a solid defender. |

Crazy but I can't remember the last time Green used a time out. Players and coaches just aren't making very good decisions. |

Similar for me:
* 1 new top 6 (perhaps Podk, asking a lot for a rookie)
* 3 new bottom 6 (to go with Vesey, Motte, Boyd & ZacMac)
* 2 new D (to go with Hughes, Schmidt, OJ, Myers)
New GM will figure out coaching...canāt imagine the front office can remain intact, despite FAās tweets in support of JB & TG. - SlightlyOffside
You have seen Veezer play what, 4 games as a Canuck, and Boyd has played zero. Both are UFA. Good chance neither are back next year.

You had mentioned Cernak in your lineup, I think he will be protected, leaving Cal Foote available for a potential trade, I would be happy with him, or trying to get Timmons out of Colorado. |

Agreed.
Do you know any sites that keep track of specific penalties, for example, too many men on the ice?
The Canucks appear to take a lot of these penalties over the last few seasons, so just wondering if it is a league-wide thing or just the Canucks. |

By the 2 min mark in that shift he was literally doing nothing. Wouldnāt it have made more sense to simply skate to the bench for fresh legs? I mean, they kill penalties all the time, it would have been 15 to 20 seconds at most. |

You're right, there is a good chance neither is back.
FWIW, I have watched Boyd (as a Leaf) and Vesey (as a Leaf & 4 games as a Canuck). I would much prefer either of them over Roussell, Beagle or Eriksson from what I've seen this year.
I like what I've seen from ZacMac and Motte in the bottom 6 |

Hopefully Seattle takes one of Holtby, Myers, Rous, Beagle as a vet presence, and that frees Van up a little to make some moves/buyouts/burying.

I thought the Travis Green presser, after the 4-0 loss was priceless. One of the questions, posed by Wagner, Faber or someone like that excitedly asked Green about the 19 minutes of icetime Vesey was getting and how they thought he was doing a good job killing penalties.
Green replies, he has been okay.
Then all you hear is a hmm and silence for a couple seconds. Lol

Give Benning just a few more years to turn this around. 10 years is a fair shot.
The first 5 years was mostly on Gillis, he needs 5 of his own - Nucker101

Yup.
I believe the other team was also doing a line change as well. Hamonic needed to stop behind the net and allow for a complete change.
But I didn't notice where the forwards were to provide support to Hamonic to allow for a change. |

Not disagreeing, but the team is only better next year with the likes of Boud et al if they can afford to upgrade in other areas because of it. Still have one more year of Lui/Beags/Rous. Several more years of Schmidt/Myers and likely Edler.
This team is trying bullseye a wamprat with their T-16 back home, I have a new hope that they are up to it. |

I think they will too... Seattle writer for Atheltic put this down:
Tampa Bay Lightning: From his contract situation to being placed on waivers to the fact he is from Spokane, Washington, Tyler Johnson continually comes up as the player the Lightning could lose in the expansion draft. Johnson, who turns 31 in July, would have three years left on his current contract carrying a $5 million AAV. The Kraken would have a potential top-six option who could play down the middle or on the edge while logging time on the power play. Still, Francis and the Kraken could be in a position to do more. The Lightning are a team with salary cap issues that are projected to have minus-$3.5 million in projected space ahead of next season, per CapFriendly. Yanni Gourde, Alex Killorn, Ryan McDonagh and Ondrej Palat will each carry a cap hit more than $4.45 million next season. Getting Johnsonās contract along with one of those deals off the books would provide financial freedom. And with the Kraken having cap space, it could lead to Francis offering the Lightning some financial aid that might not come cheap.
Tampa's in a tough squeeze cap-wise, but they have lots of assets. If they can get Seattle to pick up Johnson while giving them another player, that frees up a lot of wiggle room for them.
Of course, they can do a side deal with another team too to take Johnson and just let them pick from Palat, Gourde, Killorn, Raddysh |

It was chaotic for sure. Iām a āMyers haterā and I didnāt āblame himā for that play, but being smart enough to know when it just isnāt worth it to stay out is important. It would be like a forward defending without a stick coming out to the point to challenge and then not going the extra two feet to get a new one from the bench.

Its a good thing that once Van swept Wpg that they would be close behind. Instead wpg is going to shut them out.
They don't look like they want to try anymore.
After these two games. If JB doesn't sell half the team. Im going to turn on him. - manvanfan

Why is their no icing on the PK?
I've never really thought about the rationale, just always been the rule as long as i can remember...
would their be more scoring chances if you couldn't just dump the puck?
Or was the rule made because the defending teams just opted for the icing call and faceoff and that ruined the flow? - dbot
At one of the GM meetings they actually talked about changing the rule where you can't ice the puck on the PK and it was shot down. |
