Damn do I miss Tanev now. Wish the guy would have taken 2 year deal.
I think 6 new players would do just fine for me for next season. - manvanfan
Tanev was offered a fair deal and chose to walk. Seeya. Doesn't look like the Flames are moving into the PO picture with Tanev in the line up lol |

I think they will too... Seattle writer for Atheltic put this down:
Tampa's in a tough squeeze cap-wise, but they have lots of assets. If they can get Seattle to pick up Johnson while giving them another player, that frees up a lot of wiggle room for them.
Of course, they can do a side deal with another team too to take Johnson and just let them pick from Palat, Gourde, Killorn, Raddysh - NewYorkNuck
Be nice if the Canucks were in a position to help Tampa out. |

It was chaotic for sure. I’m a “Myers hater” and I didn’t “blame him” for that play, but being smart enough to know when it just isn’t worth it to stay out is important. It would be like a forward defending without a stick coming out to the point to challenge and then not going the extra two feet to get a new one from the bench. - 1970vintage

At one of the GM meetings they actually talked about changing the rule where you can't ice the puck on the PK and it was shot down. - LordHumungous
Rather see the 2 minute penalty be a full 2 minutes, regardless if a team scores or not. |

Doesn't look like Tanev's replacement has helped improve the team. I would say they have actually regressed from last season. |

Apparently, he wasn’t offered a deal at all, which is why he signed with the flames... lol |

They're right where I expected given the current roster and injuries. |

Tampa doesn’t need help until the offseason. They still have a dominant team rolling into the playoffs. |

That’s not what I have seen reported. He was so upset that he had zero communication with the Canucks while they sorted their poop out that he got tired of waiting and signed with a team that actually expressed interest in his services. Toffoli said similar things and I bet Markstrom would tell you the same thing. Jim is not a good communicator, which has been demonstrated multiple times.
But hey, if it makes you feel better to create your he’s a jerk and wanted an unreasonable amount of money narrative fill your boots.
I bet they’re Doc Martin’s |

And two years. That’s quite a bit of cake, even in the wasteland. |

this may come out of left field, but I think Nate Schmidt has been the best overall D-man on the Canucks this year. Has he contributed the same way Hughes has, absolutely not, but I think defensively he has been much better, and much better defensively than every other Dman who has played.

How bout we get rid of Edler? - LordHumungous
The way Green and that are going. OJ needs games. Rathbone a rookie. Hughes has flaws. They lack size and toughness. They have the most potential. Right side right now is myers. |

Yes, that is what the discussion was about, the off-season, before the asset harvesting/dissipating event, also known as the expansion draft |

Sure sure, as long as you don't factor in the 4-6 games in hand the eight teams that are 5 points or less behind them.
But, if you play it by points percentage, like the NHL did last year when the season stopped short and games were imbalanced... you'd probably get a much more accurate picture of where teams were at |
