I believe the word I used was "admitted" they tanked. In this case, the admission was implicit, as the words he used were "aiming" to be a "playoff bubble team" while building up "farm"

That is, as I mentioned, is moderated tanking. Just like Detroit was tanking year before when while they kept Larkin and Mantha they also had 9 mil in salary cap space they did not use. Just like Eagles 16th game when they kept Hurts then yanked him for guy who hadn't played for 2 years while the game was still relatively close.

Now, are you going to calm down or are you going to rant like a loon on and on and on like last year like a child who is screaming because someone has given him a wedgie in the sand lot?

For someone who seems th think they are so much smarter than most everyone else and to imply someone is acting like a child while acting childlike is pretty amusing.

Tonight's game is why Skill matters more than anything else. The Rangers get their chances and they score, and the Flyers get almost double the shots and can't score. SKILL MATTERS!

To think I was going to get a season streaming pass for the phantoms since the flyers svck so bad.
I got home late and decided to wait. They lost 6-2. Ugh hockey for this franchise is not well this week.

Skill always matters...but if you don’t make them pay a price physically and just let them skate you into the ice... skill will embarrass you. Like we’ve seen how many times this year ?

I was messing with you. Thankfully, you can be relied on to take the bait.

And thanks, no one needs explaining to why the Eagles did that.

Night night.

You can't mess with me. How could you be messing with me when you've been made to look like a fool. Yes, it does need to be explained to you if you think Pederson put in Sudfeld to tank. He's simply giving a 3rd string guy who has been a good soldier and team player all season some playing time.

I knew you wouldn't have the fortitude.

They haven't had much practice but at this point what do you have to lose? Just sit back and magically hope that they get it together as a team defensively? Has there been any indication of that happening other than is small samples only to regress again? What does benching a few players do when it is a team wide issue?
- MJL

I'm not sure I understand your response here. I think AV has pushed every button he can push at this point. Maybe the practices will help a bit, but honestly, I don't ever recall a Flyers team that was this bad defensively, its frightening.

It's not hard to understand. I disagree that AV has pushed every button. Other than tweaks, they haven't changed much structurally. I agree that its mostly on the players. I'm a huge AV fan. I lobbied for the Flyers to hire him. The simple fact is that he and his assistants have not done a good job this year.

Very true, but my point is that the Flyers lack a lot of offensive skill. They work hard and get very little results from all that hard work, while another team like the Rangers get a chance and bury it. Fletcher has a lot of work to do.

It also helps when you get wide open looks at the net and soft coverage.

The Rangers scored five 5-on-5 goals tonight, Patrick and Jake -4 a piece. Hmmmm

Not really. They need to tweak a few spots. Add a defenseman or two. Lots of talent on this team.

The Rangers players were giddy with excitement. Licking their chops at the chances they were getting. They were having a ball.

I’ve never seen so much fumbling with the puck in all my life.

Why is the Couturier PP unit playing second fiddle to the Giroux PP unit?

If I’m the Flyers, I’m giving the refs Tim Peal Chirps all night. Missing the Brendon Smith cross check early and giving only Morin a roughing call in a scrum not long later set the tone early. Missing the puck over the class in the early third was bad. What are they even looking at?

Even with their points, I didn’t think Couturier, Hayes or Voracek were very good. Especially with Jake. Giroux is the only player who has given it his all the pasted week or so.

Talent alone doesn’t make a good team. THIs team stinks. What spots need tweaking?

What the hell happened to Konecny? He is a shell of the player he was before the pause last year.

Where is the leadership on this team? Fights have been from NAK, Lindblom, and Morin.

You get your doors blown off against, not just any team, but one of your biggest rivals, and you come out playing like “it’s some throw away game up in Rochester”.

I mean seriously, this game would have been circled since last week. I’d have come out looking to hit anything that moved and hard. Embarrass me on National TV... you’re going to pay tonight. Every puck should have been contested, every check finished. And they came out like that?

This team has quit and it’s (frank)ing obvious. A bunch of soft quitters. Fits this core perfectly.

Get (frank)in tougher. Passed Flyers teams stir the pot if they’re in a hole. Where is the fight? I mean I thought Morin gave it early but took a roughing.

I’d like to know why Konency was allowed to stay on the top line all game.

I would disagree that they quit. It's more about being dysfunctional than in quitting. They attempted to compete all game. It's like the saying, work smarter, not harder. You can bust your ass all you want but if it's not in the right direction it won't matter. They're not a team. They're a collection of individual players.

Yes, he also confirmed what I think we all see, that the players are getting down on themselves when they give up a goal, and that they can't continue to do that. The Flyers have been giving up goals in bunches. They are not going to shutout teams every game, they have got to figure out how to string together strong shifts after a team scores to recapture momentum.

What did he say? I appreciate the honesty. These bullpoop cliche answers when you’ve lost 9-0, 6-1, and 8-3 within the last 8 days doesn’t cut it with me. We are all held accountable in the real world, they should be as well.
