Are you Canadian? You are too mild mannered to be one of us. Plus, you like roasted peppers or some such heresy on your cheesesteak. - PT21
Not fair, PT. They don't know what cheesesteaks are up there. For that matter, not really many other places in the US do, either. |

Since reading English is clearly not your forte, I am trying another track:

I wanted to thank you for the The Investigation recommendation. We have seen 4 episodes so far and we are loving it. And those Swedish cadaver dogs are insanely cute when they whinny (and even when they don't) - PT21
You’re welcome. I liked the realistic portrayal of the murder investigation. No magically brilliant detective, just hard work and dedication. Also thought it was interesting that they didn’t give the murderer one second of screen time. Can’t say the cadaver dogs made an impression on me. |

I would like to see Morin tonight but I want them to draw penalties no get them, get a big lead then pound someone. - wcorvette
While I don’t disagree. They weren’t willing to fight during a 9-0 game. If winning like that they may have face cramps from smiling. Those muscles haven’t been used much. Hope no one pulls a muscle. |

Just realized Morin is in on d. Scotty back to center the 4 th line. |

Does anybody outside of Philly even give cheesesteaks a second thought? It's like an obscure footnote in American cuisine. Way too much pride invested in a simple meat sandwich, lol.

What a great in depth analysis of Hart's issues this season as compared to last. My question is can he be fixed...and how? Is it possible for him to recover this season? With confidence issues it seems tricky. - DANCER
My personal opinion (which is frankly not worth much since I know diddly about the technical issues) is that it can be fixed, and Carter Hart has tremendous promise and of all personnel developmental setbacks we have had this year, this is the least worrisome. |

No one does grief and grieving like the Scandinavians. Have you seen any of Bergman's movies?
I tend to consider dogs to be superior species to humans, so I might be biased re: dogs. |

Hey guys look, here is another one.
Poster clearly says he notices an unusually high # of shoot out attempts going top shelf on Hart.
And another guy posts an article where ESPN says Cart is going down too early.
Likely conversation:
Asst. coaches tell players: hey go high on Cahtah in the shootout. Just fake the shot, Carter will go down. There will be net to shoot at. He is doing that a lot.
Players: Naaah!! Am gonna do what am gonna do what I always do. My moves, they gold bro! Ain't listening to that jive! Don't matter which dawg in net! I just do my thang, irrespective! - PT21
You made more sense posting in a different language.

Chicago, by way of Louisville, by way of Taipei. So you can stop guessing now.
I really like cheesesteaks btw. And for the record, peppers, provolone, mushrooms, wiz, w/e... I'm not picky. |

I agree 100% with you here. This is a special moment. I don't find any of the setbacks for young players worrisome with the exception of Patrick.

As opposed to the argument you offer ad nauseum? You answered your own question. The Flyers wanted to remain competitive while rebuilding or retooling. - MJL
The only reason I have to offer it ad nauseum is because you freaked out when Mrs. Jones introduced fractions in 1973 and never recovered.
And you are not getting away that easy. Flyers were replenishing farm while aiming to be a "bubble playoff team". Which means they were not going pedal to the metal for winning every year. Why not? Because they wanted to get good picks.
Which means they were semi-tanking. Not full fledged, but moderated tanking, somewhat sacrificing present for the future.
Now, I know this will be hard for you, as you have said many times that you will stop being a Flyers fan if they tank. Now that an informed Flyers employee has admitted they did, I guess its hasta la vista, my friend.
We will always remember you fondly, and your acute hockey insight, which you uttered every year from 2007-2021:
The future is bright. And the time to make big moves is when that time comes.
Take care, MJL. |

How did you grow up a Flyers fan in Louisville/Chicago?
Btw, deep dish pizza sucks. |

I didn't grow up in Chicago. Fandom started in Kentucky. No local team, so it just ended up being my favorite logo in the NHL genesis team select screen, lol. Kinda just stuck w/ it from there.
Nobody in Chicago eats deep dish btw. Main local pie here is thin crust cut into squares.
You wanna know what really sucks? Look up 'Chicago dog' |

Incorrect. You are forgetting much. Maybe a memory issue. The Flyers not only were drafting and developing young players, they also had to clean up the salary cap. The traded away players such as Scott Hartnell to clear up the future cap situation. So while they also lacked young developing talent, they also lacked cap space. The bough in short term veterans such as Brian Elliott and Val Fillpula to try and keep the team competitive.
I'm not getting away that easy. You seriously crack me up.

You've hit rock bottom here PT. Honestly you have. The Flyers have never tanked since I've been a fan. No informed employee has admitted that they have tanked. You've really embarrassed yourself here.
You can't even comprehend what you yourself quoted from Bill's statement.
"Hexy wasn't even aiming for deep runs in the playoffs. He was entirely focused on a farm system rebuild with leaving just enough at the NHL level to at least be a bubble team."
You can bet one thing though. If I say I'm leaving, I'll actually leave. |
