Looks like a picked a good one to miss.

Was working on a house project, checked the score after 1 ... went back to my project.

Greiss by the eye test doesn't seem that bad, but his numbers have been horrible this year. Both save percentage and the goals against versus expected models hate him right now. I tend to think he's been better than the numbers would suggest but admittedly he has had a few truly awful starts.

If Detroit had any expectations at all, this period would get someone fired. But, they don’t. If you paid money to watch this, demand a refund

Great statement about expectations, it’s getting to a point of disbelief. We all have the faith Stevie will build a solid future but the present is disturbing. The bright side is that we aren’t Buffalo fans. Wearing the Winged Wheel should be all about pride especially with the Clubs great past.
At this point why don’t we put more youth into a few games here and there just to get a taste but not harm their Development.

Stralman on waivers. Seems that once upon a time Kenny tried to sign him. If he had, the Wings would be trying to be rid of him now.

I've spent the past 12+hrs trying to find the light, the words, the rationale for what we are seeing. I failed. To you all, I apologize for failing almost as badly as the Wings have been these past 3 games. I'm like Monty Python: "Always look on the briiiiight side of life!" Almost dying a couple of times does that to ya. In this case, I can't. I. Just. Can't.

Sheeeewwww doooogies: That rat there lookt pAINful!

Agree with getting the kids more ice-time. Griess IS better than this year's numbers. But what we're seeing shows exactly how fragile the Wings are in net. I said it before the draft: We need a "G" and there was a good one that was a sure-fire Top10.....and would've been with the club in short order (NOT this year, would still need someone to fill the net this year, I got that...). Now, I stand more firmly on the opinion that we need a good Goalie.....and Defencemen…...and some Center depth.....and a coach...…...Lordy how I need a Ginger-Ale!!!!!!

There's always Saturday.....and Columbus

Stralman during his peak years as a Ranger was one of the most underrated defenseman in the NHL, in my opinion. Sneaky good at both ends of the ice.

Definitely not the player he once was, though. That tends to happen to most players by their middle 30s.

That's when Kenny tried to sign Niskanen, Stralman, Hainsey and Robidas. They all turned him down. So Kenny had to circle back to Kyle Quincey after telling him he was no longer in their plans.

Then Kenny infamously said "I don't know why free agents won't sign here."

Looking back in hindsight, they dodged a bullet by not signing Parise and Suter to those massive contracts. Imagine the position this team would be in right now having them locked in until 2025 and all of that cap used up over a couple of guys that did nothing for Minnesota. I remember so many Wings fans wanted the pair so badly, and were furious and blamed Kenny when they decided to not sign here. We'd be in a rebuild until 2028 if we did.

But then the Wings wouldn't have signed Neilsen or Weiss most likely.......
