Marwood should be the new gm. It would be all rainbows and unicorns in the arena all the time then
- Jkuzzi
I think they should go with someone that has more experience. |

We also may have to realize that attracting players to a Canadian market is more difficult than we know.
I believe it was Burke who said that a lot of players with no trade lists have mostly Canadien cities on them.
Makes drafting all the more important. - manvanfan
Well said.
That’s what most of us whiners have been female doging about all these years. Drafts and solid player development must be the priority yet, historically speaking, it’s been management’s Achilles heel. |

Just to piss me off, they should hire Drance or Dayal. |

I don’t read either of them much so don’t understand why those two generate such disdain.
If they want to really piss me off, they would hire Steely Dan. |

damn you! Just spent the last hour in the YouTube vortex.
Have you heard of percussionist Steve Gadd? Good stuff. Just listened to some of his stuff on Steely Dan’s Aja. Hate SD but got to admit the Aja album is really well produced and the recording is top shelf. Musicians at their very best. - bloatedmosquito
Production on Aja is astounding. Unreal actually I have the newest 180g vinyl and it's remarkably recorded...almost flawless. I'll look more into Steve Gadd... |

Jazz. Which seems to be the foundation for most of the great percussionists. |

Benning has drafted really well except for 2016 so far.
Would having a dozen more draft picks over a 7 year period mean better results.
I don't know exactly how the results would have gone. Looking at the drafts. Most likely 1 or 2 mediocre NHL players might be on the team. |

He drummed on some Bee Gees songs. Probably why you like him.
Heavy Funk is also a foundation, at least to me. Jazz is pretty boring as a stand alone.

That’s why you need good player development to go along with solid drafting. I’m probably in the minority here, but I’ve always liked the Canucks’ player development. In a few instances they have produced chicken salad out of chicken sh it.
Since 2000, over 4,000 games played by players drafted in the 5th round or higher or not even drafted at all. I need to look up how that stacks up against other nhl teams... |

I still swear the 1972 ABC copy of Can't Buy a Thrill is the best produced record in my collection. They spared no expense when they hit the studio. Gadd was one of many hired guns. |

Good to know I may actually have that copy in the collection. I think I have it on heavyweight remaster too will check. Would be interesting to compare them. |
