You have a MUCH lower risk of getting it in the first place, and a further MUCH lower risk of getting severely sick/hospitalizing/dying.

I'm not sure of the argument against it because it's slightly possible you may still get sick.

Not an argument. It is a true statement, take it how you like. But you said it yourself and I have read factual information on this. Lower Risk. Not for sure that you don't get seriously ill. And I am not sure they have enough data to account for the newer strains.

What's in the vaccine? Ask your doc he doesn't know. Don't you have a right to know what goes into your body? The elites that run the world are not your friends and they control everything including the people that follow thier rules.

Last time I checked, a vaccine is a biological preparation that provides active acquired immunity to a particular infectious disease. A vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins, or one of its surface proteins.

I just noticed we're now in 21st place. Must be an aberration of sorts as I was led to believe games in hand meant nothing.

I think it's disingenuous to say that having less than a 1% chance to get seriously ill (based off prevention against catching the virus, and then prevention from getting seriously ill) is comparable. There's a percentage risk in anything. Know how effective condoms are? 98%. That means, while having sex with a condom, you'd be more likely to get a girl pregnant than you would be get seriously ill from COVID with a vaccine.

So, yes, there's a very small risk to get seriously ill from COVID. But if you get everyone vaccinated, even with those small percentages you'll stop the spread.

Covid Vaccines are at best 95% effective and at worst 66% effective so again don't discount there will still be a risk.

Really not sure how you go from DHS & Harvard summaries of the mRNA vaccines being +/- 95% effective in preventing infection or the decreased transmissibility that has been clinically observed....to what appears to be an assertion that you have lower risk to COVID-19 (which is A corona-virus, not THE corona-virus) without it...but please do make your own determination.

Back to hockey....hope to see better structure and energy from the team after their break. Also hoping to see some moves leading up to the TDL!

Again, those numbers are for contracting the disease. From the links I sent, they're all pretty much 90+% at preventing death and serious illness.

Here's a good video describing the basics of that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3odScka55A

The odds for someone to get hit by a car (in US anyway) is 1:4300. That's 0.02%. But no one has that constantly hovering on their mind as it's such a small number.

There's a risk in everything. Getting the vaccine will drastically lower that risk, and therefore for me, take a large part of the burden off my mind.

I love this “live right” approach and you will be protected. So silly. History can provide context.

Our west coast First Nation brothers and sisters can attest to the devastation cause by a virus that the human body has not seen before. They lived a holistic, active lifestyle with a diet second to none (predominantly fish and berries). Even with a healthy lifestyle they had no chance against smallpox, tuberculosis, scarlet fever, influenza and measles viruses introduced by Europeans.

To suggest that all we have to do is live right is nothing more than ignorant.

You're the first person I've interacted with that's had the Moderna vaccine. I know of people here that had Astrazeneca and reacted poorly but anyone who's taken Pfizer that I know of has been fine.
- golfingsince

He is not the 1st one that you have interacted with, that has had the Moderna vaccine, at least 1 other person here has had that vaccine, because they live in a very vulnerable community and probably doesn't want to say to much about getting the vaccine.

Every time I hear that I think of the parents in Alberta who treated their child who had meningitis with maple syrup & horseradish.

I am of the mind that eastern medicine is preventative and western medicine is curative. I think far too many people rely on western medicine strictly and would benefit from some knowledge of eastern medicine.

That said, a total reliance on eastern medicine is a disaster waiting to happen.
