Holden is for sure a spot filler but he at least seems to be a good spot filler. I don't know that he could handle much more than a third-pairing job but he has historically been dependable in the role over the last handful of years.

Also, can I just say it ticks me off that Stecher hasn't played the last couple of games and there's been no explanation why, as far as I know?

I know he had a couple of rough games against Nashville -- unless he's got an unreported nagging injury I'm assuming that's the reason. Which is infuriating to me.

Stecher has a couple bad games and he's scratched. Meanwhile Staal and DDK play on and on and on, nothing to see here. Jonathan Ericsson maybe had two good games his entire career and lasted 13 years. I don't understand why the standards apply to some players and not others.
