I'm sure the predictions for cancelling the PO's will be in soon...like last year...

I thought they should have scrubbed last year and never thought they could get it done but they proved me wrong. Now, because we’ve been living through this for so long I’m pretty desensitized. Two reasons really. 1) I don’t believe that a bunch of men making millions of dollars pose a health risk to the rest of us (with no fans, constant testing etc). 2) Nothing really surprises me anymore.

I don't think the players or the most of the fans are into this season.
I'm not sure how anyone can claim that, I just looked up his stats.
2.92GAA, 911% and he has played a total of 62 games.
I'm a bit shocked the team offered 25 Million for such an unproven player.
Schneider played well for his bit of time in Vancouver, but became a bust in New Jersey.
I'm surprised the Benning critics are happy with this signing, I know I'm a bit surprised and I half liked Benning - Makita
His (Schneider) first three seasons were solid on not very good teams, his next two were decent if unspectacular. For $5m and the (statistically likely) best five years of his career, I think it’s a good deal. It could look like a bargain in two years and like Holtby’s deal in 4 but the risk isn’t extreme.
@Lefty.
If you are lurking, I just want to express my condolences to you on your Flyers and the great coach they have.
What a shits how that team is. Time for some serious housecleaning, starting with Giroux and Voracek.

Shambles.
The Flames, Sabres and Flyers make us feel better.
I know it makes me happy being a fan of this poorly run organization knowing there are other poopty teams, it means we will always be competitive at the draft lottery.

That was my first inclination when I heard about the deal, I have just watched Murph and IMac on Sportsnet and I was surprised to hear he (IMac) also state it was a risk. That the club is hoping that Demko is the real deal and they are banking on the last 3 years of Demko’s contract.
I truly want Demko to be the next greatest goalie there is, but is this too much too soon?

2yrs RFA with Arb he wasn't taking a bridge. I suggested 5x5 would work best. We get Demko's prime years to 30. Canucks can build contender with existing core as good base to add pieces.

There is always risk but offering him a one year bridge is much riskier. They couldn’t afford to (frank) around with him being a UFA in two seasons

Dude I think they've proven the existing core isn't good enough. Our top end guys aren't good enough. Our secondary guys surely aren't even close

Well, if it is too soon it’s Jim’s fault. As Don said, the risk he gets to UFA is also great. Sure, they have DiPi coming but he’s an even bigger unknown, and hopefully there isn’t a NMC in Demko’s contract.
I think he will be in the top third of the league statistically for the next five years, and to me that salary is a bargain. It’s going to be the Canucks version of Nathan MacKinnon, and you can take that to the bank!
Thats wild that Boeser and Virtanen were also involved in that locker room fight with Beagle and Petey. I wonder which coach got hurt during it - Jkuzzi
Wall, the video coach. He got a little too close with his video camera and took a roundhouse kick from Gaudette.

According to this site, there are no NMC or NTC attached.

Not really.
But, it does give me something to watch during these difficult times. It would make it a little interesting if they added a player or 2 from Utica, like Kole Lind and Jonah Gadjovich, you know, players with a bit of abrasiveness.😁
