I know I posted this yesterday or the day previous, but regardless if we agree with others that view this pandemic as the common flu or not, they have the right to their opinions.
There are several that post their beliefs that side with the majority of world doctors, world scientists and world virologists.
Why do we have to try and stifle individuals that believe Bill Gates has convinced the entire world leaders to mass inject a damaging virus to wipe out the majority of the worlds population.
I mean it could be plausible that these individuals are far more in tune to a worldwide conspiracy. They may not be employed in the virologist field, studying the virus and it's variants. But they do have internet and google search in Prince George or Red Deer or Yaletown and possibly have uncovered damaging information before Bill Gates had the time to censor the internet.
Just saying is all...🤔🤷‍♂️ - Makita

It’s a bit odd that the Canucks game is a go when the Habs games were cancelled for a week. Is two (positive tests) the magic number to postpone games? |

I have no idea how they determine this.
It might have something to do with the variants, which I believe was the case with the Habs players. |

I think it will be quite funny, if the Senators overtake one of these teams.
The Senators are going to be a nice hockey team, in the near future. |

It’s more like a run to the bottom that’s more important. Neither team is making the playoffs, so draft position is the reward. |

Yup.
I could see your Flames taking the highest ranked centre, as your team sucks down the middle. |

Do you have a numerical ranking, some posters find percentages challenging. |

Honestly, as has been the case, because these types of unfounded internet conspiracy theories spread far and create actual damage in the real world. They stoke racism, sow distrust in legitimate science, and have caused people to die – especially the case when some presidents believe into these things.
Now, it's early, and I might be misreading the sarcasm your post is basted in... but (frank) it. - NewYorkNuck
This is the reason I tell people to GTFO when they talk about astrology or "crystals". I've heard the argument "Oh I don't really believe it, it's just fun to talk about", but that's ignoring the damage those fu cked up beliefs can do, it's such a slippery slope. People die every day, or let their kids die, or are responsible for the deaths of others because they believe this shi t.
As reasonable people I think we are fully justified in challenging people on those beliefs especially when we've seen the real, tangible damage they can do. |

I've been very interested in Q Anon lately, just how messed up the whole thing is and the level that people buy into it. I've watched a lot of videos and read articles describing the slow pull down the gravitational black hole, how people get hooked on a fairly moral point ("You don't want kids being hurt, do you?"), and from there it's one small step to the next idea and one small step and so forth. Basically, the internet has been the dry tinder, and all the time people have had with lockdown and the pandemic has been the match.
The internet has really helped democratize and empower these fringe ideas. It's interesting (and scary) when you see the same tactics being used to radicalize religious zealots as you do Q Anon and incel guys in North America. |
