Yes we have subban, zajac and a couple others but most are on low cap hits

We can always take on a 1-2 year cap dump if someone is willing to provide solid incentive. Mtl is about to have some serious cap issues, and may need to rid themselves of players that would be helpful to our roster. LD's like Edmundson and Chiarot have been great for them, or a speedy winger like Byron. I think one of them has to move short of Price/Weber "retiring". Finding the Cap Floor shouldn't be a concern, as we can always overpay some proven guys in the off season for a 1 year deal similar to what Buff did with Hall.

Agreed reaching the floor isn’t a problem. The ability to get assets by trading cap space has been mixed at best. The NHL let’s teams do a lot creative maneuvering.

Will be shocked if Mercer isn't with us next year, he already plays such a smart game. Outside of players that went straight to the NHL, I'd say he's our best prospect since Parise.

Mercer is NHL ready next season for sure. 10 minutes a night saw him land 6 points through 7 games at the U20's, and he's putting up 1 goal and 1 assist in almost every game in the QMJHL. The kid needs to be pushed much harder or he will start developing bad habits.

Now what are the thoughts on Murray? I think he has been fantastic, and since breaking free of PK, his +/- and point production have taken a noticeable step forward.
