"Kole Lind cleared to play by #Canucks doctors yesterday (broken nose) and has been assigned to the taxi squad." - Carol Schram
Awesome news. Thanks Carol.
Kole is already my favourite Canuck. |

I wonder if the Canucks can still claim players off waivers while they are off? They could pick up guys from US teams and quarantine in about the same time it’s going to take to get back to game shape.
Or trade guys with US teams, same deal - if it was a player coming back instead of a pick. |

It was inevitable just look at the numbers in BC, along with soft messaging. People are being 'urged' to 'avoid' non-essential travel. Lots of off island licence plates in Cumberland over spring break.
Enjoy the weekend with your family. - Marwood

Evgeny Svechnikov on waivers...5 points in 10 games with the wings...6 foot 3, former first. 24 years old. And Cheap....I vote we grab him. Does my vote count?

Who’d have known that JB could build an entire bottom 6 off of waivers, instead of throwing multi-year contracts at vets? Lol |

haha with covid + injuries + hoping we trade a few...may as well have some fresh bodies to look at.
I wish we could trade..... AR, Beagle, Sutter, Pearson (maybe Edler and sign him back), Holtby (bring in a cheaper back-up), and maybe even Schmidt, but I think he will be better.

I saw that the Canucks and Flames are scheduled to play each other on the 8th and 10th. Benning should grab Evgeny Svechnikov he’d be available on the 10th |

They definitely aren’t playing for the next 10-14 days. The 8th was after Gaud’s positive, now that they have 8 in total it’s going to be a while |

I think the general return to work guideline in BC is 10 days from confirmed positive, but seeing as it takes as long as a week to identify possible contagion, it could be a while until they play. I recall early on when teams like Dallas were out didn’t they miss like 3 weeks?
Plus, how competitive will they be having been isolated for two weeks, with a third of the team having been sick, to varying degrees of severity?
It will be a month before they are back to February form. |

I’ll add my vote to yours...would definitely take him.
Haven’t checked how many contracts Canucks have, but certainly won’t have any cap issues with 10-11 players out for a couple of weeks.
That would be a solid set of waiver wire pick-ups — Vesey, Boyd & Svechnikov...would have to get out of a bunch of other contracts before the start of next season. |

He’s Russian, so that’d be a potential plus with Pod coming over.
Hope they do put a claim in, but could also see a lower team putting in a claim too |

Seven #canucks are now on the NHL"s COVID Protocol list: Alex Edler, Adam Gaudette, Travis Hamonic, Braden Holtby, Quinn Hughes, Zack MacEwan and Antoine Roussel.

Don’t think he will ever be as good as his brother or live up to his 1st round selection (he had a major knee injury in 2019) but could see him being a good complement to PodK. |
