Meh -- too much needs to happen. BOS has a 4pt lead and 3 games in hand. The Rangers would have to go on an absolute tear and the Bruins lose damn near every game they play for that to happen. If it wasn't in-division games only it might be a possibility but I think that one is a major long-shot. - eichiefs9
Shame. I’d love an Islanders/Rangers 1st round matchup. |

Bruins are having zero luck with injuries/covid which I’m totally ok with of course. |

Do the Islanders have cap space to make a trade for Guardreau work. Imagine him and Barzal |

No. Well, technically this year they do but he's not fitting next year. |

Only way he would fit next year is if Lee is not going to play until the deadline |

“There’s so much unknown because of the cap,” New York Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello said. “The cap is going to be flat next year. So any contract that you take on that is more than one year is going to disrupt whatever you’re doing next year and will put you in worse shape. So that complicates the matter without the cap increases, but it’s the same for everyone.” |

This team is in serious cap trouble without taking on any other contracts. |

Kyle Palmieri's agent, Stephen Bartlett, tweets that winger is being held out of #NJDevils lineup today in anticipation of a trade in next week or so.

Hey it’s great to have some size in the line up against the caps but let’s call a spade a spade the guy is (frank)ing worthless. How has that line been since he has been on it? |

I agree outside of a few games a year there is no spot for him. Tomorrow night is a night I honestly think they need him. This is exactly why he is on this team for games like this. Honestly most 13 and 14th forwards suck at every thing. Johnston sucks at most |

Gaudreau disappears in the playoffs. Regular season numbers are solid but he is not a playoff point producer. |

I agree with Vukota on this one. I think tomorrow night the boys will need him to answer the bell if he is up to it. Do not want to see Matty Marts go against Big Z again. |

100%. They’re hard to find but a player that can at least contribute a little more is exponentially more viable then a Johnston. I get why he’s in the line up I’m just not a fan of it or agree with it. He won’t or I should say shouldn’t be in the lineup during the playoffs if we were playing the caps he shouldn’t be now(I also get injuries are playing a part). It’s the NHL the team has to play through physical teams not sure how much Johnston helps or deters anything. He’s redundant with Martin and Clutterbuck. Just my two cents.
Btw, you can thank me tomorrow when he scores two goals, gets an assist, and beats the crap out of Wilson. |
