I've got one!
How about we stop complaining about our fully serviceable 2C and just enjoy the 90+% complete team we have??
As these guys grow together over the next year or two, we are going to have one of the most bulletproof rosters in the league!
Opportunities to improve? Without a doubt. But, I hope management doesn't share the fanbase's need to make some sort of home run swing trade that will make us marginally better while simultaneously emptying our now full cupboard.
I feel like we are poised to keep a pipeline of players turning over and feeding into the line up for close to a decade going forward.
(p.s. - not directed at you, Tommy. Just seems like this is the topic for the majority of our discussions on here of late) - Tonybere
I mean this is the hope but we can't say that is guaranteed to happen. If the Rangers have a chance to improve themselves with another top 6 center, have to look at it. |

I remember reading the CGY blogs about how much they hated Monahan after their playoff series. Said he’s not willing to take a hit, soft, doesn’t have that extra level needed for the playoffs. Definitely not the guy I’d be looking to add. Not sure id want lindholm either when we already have Strome. I’d be looking more for a younger C that’s on an ELC or RFA that we could start at the 3C and move into a 2C role in the future. We talk about everyone else’s players but we might already have what we’re looking for in Barron. - nyrangers9479
So Kopitar is having a pretty good season. He’s owed 10 mill per for the next 3 seasons. Would you guys be interested? He’s 33 and not that old. I think he’s the same age when we got Brad Richards. Proven Stanley Cup winner. Thoughts? I know that cap hit isn’t ideal but the length left isn’t bad. |

I'd be shocked if Kings wanted to trade him
I think they look at him as the guy who will lead the way with all the prospects

Of course, nothing is a guarantee. But, we have potential in Chytil, although time is running out for him if he can't address his issues, as well as Barron at center. With Mika and Rooney, we have 1 and 4 sewn up. Just have to settle the middle 6 C positions. We have way too many high end wing prospects and the same on the back end. In net, we may not have limitless options, but the top guys look real good.
What do we have to be nervous about? |

At Rangers practice, Kaapo Kakko is wearing a blue jersey. Panarin and Strome are wearing white. Kravtsov is wearing white, and Lafreniere and Chytil are in blue.

saw this on the Athletic's "who says no" trade proposal thing
Rasmus Kupari, Tobias Bjornfot and a 2022 first-round pick to the New York Rangers for K’Andre Miller
Who says no?: The Kings
It is an overpay – three pieces for one, and not only three pieces but three first-round pieces. Kupari went in the first round in 2018 (No. 20) and Bjornfot in 2019 (No. 22) as part of the Jake Muzzin deal. - jimbro83

We are only getting a glimpse of how dominant he can be now as a rookie. The sky is the limit for him. The size, the defensive prowess, the untapped offensive prowess that we know is probably there given that he was a forward at one point. Not sure how anyone could justify trading that away |

there's no justification for trading him away
I'm just saying if you were running the Kings, wouldn't K'Andre be the guy you would call the Rangers about?

Exactly. Why would we take a risk on a player who costs almost $2M more and has other deficiencies than Strome, just because he is 4.4% better on faceoffs? - Tonybere
I see him bouncing back in a big way if put in the right spot. But I see your point, I am totally fine with Strome also. I just think whoever acquires him this off-season (if anyone) will look back at it as an absolute steal. Don’t recall hearing about him being soft, thought he had the opposite reputation, honestly. A soft playoffs usually translates to playing through injury. |

Still pisses me off, he should have scored the game winner with 3 mins left on Saturday. Damn goalie made a crazy save on that rebound. |

I'm very happy with the trajectory of the NYR, but they NEED a 2way Center. Both Zibby and Strome have the flash and dash, but this team is missing that 3rd line shut down center. No matter whether Strome is here after next season, if NYR has plans on winning the cup it will need that 3rd line center. |

they have D prospects
they don't have k'Andre Miller though
although I could see Kings interested in Zac Jones or Nils Lundkvist

didnt quinn justify not getting kravtsov into the lineup until last game by saying he's not a 4th line player and they understand that? |

Kravtsov plays well, doesn't look out of place, wasn't put in the lineup for multiple games because he's not a 4th line player, but after 1 game we're going to shift him to the 4th line so we can put a guy who's got the game of a 4th liner (albeit with a bit more scoring touch) on the 2nd line?

I just can't get passed the idea that we need to think through these trades in reverse.
Why would THE RANGERS do that trade? Do they feel an upgrade at center is needed that badly? We have a wealth of talent. Too much to even fit in the line up. It seems to me that we don't have a need to trade a single one of our roster players. Until such time that they decide the next player coming up is that much better than who we are playing now that we can't part with the prospect (ie. Jones, Lundkvist,...). |
