I dont hate Strome. But we wont win playoff games with cowboy passing. We need to win the special teams battle and when our 2C doesnt play C on the PP and doesnt play C on the PK thats not ideal. Its especially not ideal because we dont have anyone else reliable to C the PP. Sure Zib can play PK but again, not ideal, give the guy a break. Rooney, hes ok too but we can do better. |

Ill say this about upgrades.
Firsty just want to get this straight. Im not willing to trade Strome just for the sake of trading Strome. Its gotta be someone who has some offensive chops, but is strong in the defensive game. Also, personally, I feel its more important to replace Chytil. Swap him for a future stud to take over the 2C for Strome. I can deal with Strome at 2C for the remaining time, but our 3C and 4C have to bonafide successors. Chytil isnt it. - aecliptic
I keep finding myself agreeing with you. |

I disagree.
Mika is lethal on the PK and your 4C should always be a key PK'er in my opinion. How is a 2C ideal on the PK, but not a 4C? Our penalty kill is absolutely rolling.
Strome's passing, good or bad (because there has been both, be fair) is a product of his style, comfort and environment.
I think the more egregious, fantasy-land passes that he tries to be too fancy with can be beaten out of him by the coaches. But, the idea he can make those work is probably a product of the level of success he and Bread have together. Do you really want to make demands on how they go about finding each other out there? |

You should get that looked at by your local hedge-doctor. |

First, we cant rely on Ziba to bail us out of every faceoff. Plus, in terms of faceoffs vs other PK (special teams) guys, hes probably the worst of the bunch on faceoffs.
I said Rooney is serviceable, but hes not great and we can upgrade here as well.
Our 3C, we can just can it.
Our PK is great despite our deficiences at the circle, but push come to shove in the playoffs when things get real dirty, those faceoff wins are gonna be real important.
Now, how do we address our issues on the PP2? We literally dont have a center for it. |

Will be interesting to see if Taylor Hall is in the Sabres lineup tomorrow. Kevyn Adams continues to have trade discussions. There’s a sense talks have escalated. Nothing imminent, but a precautionary pull this week could be telling. |

I don't know, man. And I mean that!
I certainly understand the importance of winning faceoffs. I hate when people say they don't matter (F'n Tanner). But, I also don't feel you trade someone, or for someone, based on the skill, either.
We are last in the league at 45%. The worst team in the league wins 10% fewer faceoffs than their opponents. How many points are you going to gain by one center trade? And how many things are you going to give up to gain them?

Who?
Edit:
I honestly thought you meant Winnipeg and the Hurricanes!! That's how much I follow the NFL these days! |

Another reason I like Kupari is he was 11/18 in his 3 games with the Kings on faceoffs. That’s good for 61%. I know it’s a small sample size but if he was bad I don’t think he’s winning 11/18 in his first 3 NHL games. Unfortunately the AHL doesn’t keep face off stats. |

there's no reason not to like Kupari, it's a great fit for us
but, who knows if the Kings have any interest in trading him

I just see such a log jam at center for them. Kopitar Turcotte Byfield Vilardi Kupari. Something has to give and we have exactly what they’re looking for, wingers and defenseman.
Edit, almost forgot Lias the great. |

the other night they had Lias at 4th line left wing and played like 9 minutes then sent him back to AHL
I don't even think they are protecting either of Lias or Lemieux in expansion draft, not sure

I think its safe to say they can expose Lias in the Expansion Draft and not worry that Seattle will take him. |

I don't claim to be the most knowledgeable around here about prospects, but I don't think so.
Nils has to be the bluest chip in that transaction. How do we give up him and an NHL roster player for a prospect and a 2nd? |

Did you see my post about not trading Strome just for the sake of trading him? I think priority is moving on from Chytil and getting that future stud two way forward that we can use in multiple situations. |

Rangers fanbase is ok with a lot of things to get Kupari… are the Kings ok with it? |
