it kind of reminds me of something I heard recently in an interview with Elizabeth Shue, who is still ridiculously hot, she pretty much described working with Ralph Macchio in Karate Kid as him being a total wuss bag and she could have kicked his ass at any moment, and often times wanted to whlle making that movie

I loved Torts for 90% of his time here. Two things make me disagree w/ what you have said. First, Torts isn't the best coach for rookies. His style sometimes scares the poop out of them
. Second, his coaching style tires out the guys and loses its effectivness as time goes on.

Can't entirely disagree with you, but I think it depends on the rookie. Let's unpack, RyMac, Cally, Girardi, Haggs, Steppan, Dubi all turned out pretty well. Probably hampered Kreids, Del Z, Zucc. I do remember though that the year he left, that team toughness hung around for that first AV season and probably had more to do with them going to the finals than it gets credit for.

Any tough coach like Tort's can have a message go sour if the success isn't there so agree that's a risk. We need to break through from developmental to contender and I'm not sure Quinn has the chops to do that. For sure, he won't be the coach when this team makes it's next conference finals.

He was up here from Florida as part of some protection and he was basically a made man. I didn't get too many details because I knew even as a dumb kid that was a time not to ask too many questions. Anyway, occasionally this guy would come to some of our parties. One time this guy showed us a pic of this girl doing the helicopter. I'm at work so if you don't know what that is, I'm not posting the link here.
