Just a thought. Maybe, just maybe, the Hawks feel there is value in them practicing with the big club. IMO, the Hawks are playing the long game when it comes to a lot of prospects. Look how many times Kalynuk was moved up and down before getting his chance to play. Would he had performed the same if the opportunity came earlier? We will never know. He sure looks like he can play in this league in these limited games to date.

Also. waivers could play a part in some of these decisions.

I agree on playing the long game. I see some posters are already questioning the future of Mitchell and Beaudin who haven’t even played a full half season. Let’s hope Bowman is a little more patient than us.

Of course, I get that point as I think there is that benefit of prospects on the taxi squad to practice with NHL players, learn the ropes, get immersed in the training envrionment, pre-game rituals, etc.

Yet, is there a point of diminishing returns especially when this is at least the 3rd time if not the 4th time Regula has been called up?

Prospects also need a stable environment to grow. The uncertainty can make some (not all) of them anxious which can in turn mess with their head. Definitely not the intention but the impact could still be there.

My guess is Vinny is just insurance if Sodaberg, Carpenter, Janmark are traded without a nhl player coming back. Hawks don t have really any nhl ready forwards at Rockford outside of maybe Entwhistle.

They should. Both are obvious busts and smurfs to boot. Just more proof that the Hawks have been a rudderless ship since Uncle Dale was cast adrift.

It’s what happens when you hire a maintainer instead of a real GM.

I also like that with the unexpected bit of success this season, some of the usual suspects who decry every move Bowman's ever made don't seem fit to post.

Been a tough year for them.

I don’t see a problem getting a guy like Vinny provided they don’t trade a legit prospect to get him. They traded someone they felt was expendable so it’s a good trade in my book.

I like this now we can trade janmark and still put a player out ther other then wallmark or highmore. Regula not playing makes no sense to me. i was high on him and he was a big RD. vinne's best year was better then janmarks best year.

I’ve found it’s amazing how some can tie themselves into knots to maintain a narrative.

Admission of being wrong is a fate worse than death (RF).

Yeah, I don't get it either especially when it comes to being wrong about the hockey team you're supposedly a fan of. (not you but you know what I mean)

The idiot traded a guy the team doesn’t see a need for for extra insurance. Blowman should be run out of town.

Big picture view are mitchell beaudin kaluky going solid nhl d yes is going take time and patients from fans management and coaches absolutely. If they are the reward hopefully will be a solid d core years to come. That is also true with the rest of prospects not all will make but the ones that due hopefully will make impact. This year and most likely next are years of transition development and patients.

Yep...this has almost zero impact on the Hawks, and people are up in arms about it. The way I look at it, he's a lot better option than Highmore!
- tvetter

I’m not up in arms. Just trying to understand the logic, especially when there are better forward options on the taxi squad and in Rockford. I thought one of the goals of this season was to play the kids.

Vinnie is of little to no use to the Blackhawks, either this season or in the future.

And I’m a Stan supporter.

What better options? Entwhistle? Pirri? Quenville? I think Walmark has seen his last game as a Hawk.

Just saying Vinny is of no use doesn’t really tell us why you think that. What about Vinny, as a place holder for prospects and other moves to get on the team, is a bad thing?

Now that they re-acquired Vinny....they finally have the pieces to acquire Kesler! Deal has been on the table for years.

Dominoes....

I think Beaudin, Mitchell, and Boqvist are the future. Still need to see more of Kalynchuck (sp?)...rookies all go through periods of regression especially as the season goes on and play D always takes longer. Patience padawans...

I know who gave you that Kesler info. You gotta admit he was right more often than not, just ask him.

are these players physically going between Rockford and chicago? Or are these maybe just paper transactions? While both teams are inactive

That Taxi Squad players travel/practice with the NHL team. So having guys you care about on there isn't that great unless they are getting value from it instead of playing it out in the AHL.
