You're so right! I wonder if his NTC includes Wpg?
His Pop played here, hopefully he had good things to say, if the Jets wish to go that route. - grahamzky
Lots of players have Winnipeg on their NTC. When asked to waive to come here, the majority do and seem to like it here. The two biggest examples of this are Tyler Myers, and Paul Stastny. I am sure that Manson would love to come here and hopefully Poolman does the right thing and give up number 3 so that Josh can carry Dave’s legacy.
This would be great as it would allow me to go into my dad’s closet and pull out his old Dave Manson jersey and it will once again be worn with pride! |

I should add that NHL while the NHL Covid bubble protocols exist there isn't much difference in playing in the Peg or whatever venue they decide for the playoffs. So his decision to waive or not would not be based on this season/ playoffs but rather on the final year of his contract. Manson would be a no-brainer if it wasn't for that extra year which comes at an expense in terms of trade value as well as entry draft strategies.

Just do the following trade then:
To ANH: Kristian Vesalainen, Sami Niku, 2021 first and fourth round picks
To WPG: Josh Manson, 2021 sixth round pick
See what I did there |

If the price initially avoids trading a core player away (ie.don't trade them when working on a playoff run) then a secondary price of this trade is the subsequent loss of a core player to Seattle.
ie. Samberg, 1st for Manson
becomes:
Samberg, 1st and Stanley (or Demelo, Copp, Berdin etc.)

The only thing you did was massively overpay for Mason.

Will be an interesting weekend for the Jets... the Wheeler injury gives them a serious opportunity to change the game in the north and I hope they take the shot.
IMO Vesalainen and Niku will never be anything more than bit parts at the NHL level but what do I know. Savard is a much better move than Manson too! |

I just did the same deal that Jets 1.0 did for Dave Manson. |

Habs played last night against the Leafs. Also had some short travel back home. Jets are well-rested ( which for them isn't necessarily a good thing). Odds favour the Jets tonight . Run four lines and grind them hard, and then take the Habs down in the back half of the game. Jets 4 - Habs 2 |

Savard is being held out of tonight's game.
I'll also add that Brendan Lemiuex was traded for a 4th round pick so the Jets never missed out on anything there. Still love that other trade with the Rangers. A very expensive Trouba for Pionk and Heinola. No doubt who won that one. In effect, the combo of the two trades was Trouba and a Kings 4th for Pionk, Heinola, and Hayes ( one playoff run and then UFA ) |

Go get Savard but I suspect it will cost more than your 1st and I doubt CBJ would put much value on Niku or Vesalainen.

The Jets should be all-in this season! This considering what a big Chevy fan you are. You essentially should have all the confidence in the world that even if the all-in plan falls apart that Chevy should theoretically be able to recoup assets very quickly to get back on course. |

yes we are on his no trade, as per Serevali
i like Manson to but if our coach would not have such horrible systems that creates more time in our zone and more chances for our opponents, we would not require more "Grit", maybe play a D like Heinola who can move the puck out of our zone faster instead. our issues are more system related than grit |

This idea of grit is interesting. The Jets are the 11th heaviest team in the NHL at an average weight of 199 lbs. The Jets are the 4th tallest team in the NHL at an average height of 6”2 tall.
Only 2 teams in the North Division are heavier than the Jets and they are the Flames and Leafs. Only Leafs are in a playoff position.
Only one team is taller than the Jets and that is Ottawa and we all know where they are ranked.
I am really confused where all this talk about size and strength is coming from. |

Tyler Myers - TheUltimateJet
Please take him and Edler off our hands. They were excellent for us in PO's last year and could help the Jets huge in their run. The narrative in the nucks thread is we need a slew of 975K bottom 6 forwards to make a deep run someday so send em on over... |

Well, the game didn't exactly go according to my plan, but I absolutely nailed it on the final score.
Edit: I'll add to this post in saying that a first-round match-up against the Oilers is looking more and more certain here. Oilers and Leafs have a similar run and gun type game although the Oilers are weaker on D. One wonders if Chevy and Maurice are eyeing a defenseman who might be best suited to these opponents. |
