It's not going to be easy at all there are very dangerous teams out there but with this trade the Islanders should be considered a serious cup contender at this point.

Who won the trade? Are you freaking kidding me? Islanders filled a couple of holes and they already have the best hockey coach on planet earth.

The Preds shouldn't even be considering being buyers, for Brown or anyone at this point. They're not one or two players away from being competitive with the top teams in the Central, and all trading for Brown will do is take a spot away from one of the kids that's helped the Preds go on this nice little run they're enjoying. It shouldn't surprise me though. Poile gets delusions of grander any time the Preds are in farting distance of the playoffs.

If Wheeler is hurt and goes in IR that takes care of Hall’s salary and Wheeler could still come back and play in playoffs.

I think short term obviously Palmieri is the biggest piece and helps them now. Isles win the trade. Long term is always a wait and see. Jobst is a sneaky move. Did not see that one coming. A high first helps. But won't be top 10.

I think the Isles are not done they need to deal with the cap as well now that they have their offensive piece. Need some more depth scoring and defense.

Fair trade but is Montour the shut down D the Jets need? The Jets should pay the pay the price and go for a bigger fish that makes them legit. There forward group is good enough already.

I’ve thought of that as well, but that only works if wheeler misses the rest of the reg season (I think). If he only misses 5 games and returns, then the cap space doesn’t work. So unless the jets were willing to commit him to LTIR until the end of game 56, I think cap space elsewhere is required. I’m sure this is just more Eklund rubbish, but I like to try to make sense of nonsense.
