All I know is we’re solid from 1-12 on all 4 lines. Get a depth, playoff-tested, defenseman with that 3.1mil and I’m ecstatic. |

Yes. It has been a problem for a couple of weeks now, I think.
Also, if someone posts a link, it frequently doesn't work without changing page numbers, etc. |

I think they're probably done but I wouldn't even rule out Lou adding another depth forward in case of injury. I think it's clear Barry isn't going to trust Bellows much in the playoffs and Komarov is pretty limited. Someone cheap for the taxi squad. Hickey seems like an adequate replacement if someone goes down and he doesn't cost anything.
But who knows...still plenty of time until Monday. |

I did as well when on my phone. It doesn’t happen if you go to the desktop version on the bottom of the page. |

I see another trade by Monday I am hoping we could shed one or possibly 2 bad contracts. With lou in charge anything is possible. Hope it happens. |

I believe your 100% right, Lou has one more big move. The Islanders are going to be a serious threat. Just keep goaltending healthy. |

Zajac is perfect for this year. I can't imagine they will re-sign him though. He is 35 years old and Casey is 30. I could easily see us signing Palmieri though...
It sounds like Leo is getting bought out this summer as he supposedly already has a KHL contract lined up according to some Russian paper.

Palmieri is better than Leo for sure...
and Zajac is better than MDC or Bellows. so we certainly got better last night.
now trade Bailey and Hickey for Hall. |

NJD fans on the next board over tryin to spin this for a win because they now have cap space?!?!
Palmeri and Zajac for a let first. Are you kidding me.
Also some perennial ahl crap throw in to make the bodies balance out.
Lamorello just took the league to school - halo63
No. I am a Devs fan. I see this as a win for the Devs. The trade values of players has never been so low, and you will have to wait and see the returns on Hall/Hoffman/Savard to better understand the current trade market. The cap was never an issue for the Devs. It is a win because Palms had a choice of where he was traded, and most Dev's fans were not expecting a 1st rd pick. Palms was not off to a great start this season, and Zajac also approved of this move as he simply wanted to play his 1000 games with the Devs before taking a stab at a cup run.
Both players are happy, and as a Devs fan, I am happy to take on a 1st, rather than having them play the remaining 18 meaningless games. I truly hope that pick becomes 32nd overall, with Zajac/Palms/Greene all hoisting lord Stanley.
Makes me cringe to say it, but Go Isles!!! |

You will want Zajac for his faceoff. Unreal in the defensive zone. Palms, many people seem to forget also led the Devs for the past 3 seasons in hits, along with goals. You will love him, and I think he is the perfect player for a Trotz system. |

Absolutely not I’m assuming that was a joke. With that said who would sit if we got another forward? It would have to be a pure depth move and an extra fwd unless we jettisoned someone out. Of course all of us think Bailey but he’s loved by trotz by all accounts for some unknown reason. Not happening. |

I feel both teams won this trade. Devils cleared cap for the summer and islanders with lee going down had no choice. |

From Staples Athletic article, I think he and I are on the same page.
I don’t know what Gross is smoking
Palmieri especially can help Barry Trotz slot his forwards into more proper roles. If he moves to his off-wing to play with Barzal and Jordan Eberle, Trotz keeps the Anthony Beauvillier–Brock Nelson–Josh Bailey line intact and perhaps puts Zajac, a center, on the wing with Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Oliver Wahlstrom. It’s a lot of right-hand shots, but this deal doesn’t get done without Trotz and his coaching staff being keenly aware of the trade talks to game-plan what potentially having six righties among the top nine forwards means. |
