I don’t really see any reason to do anything with Pageau. I get we have to find some room for the new dudes but Pageau has been so damn effective I wouldn’t mess with it. - Cptmjl
I agree. Would prefer Beau or Wally there, but the fact that they are playing Zajac (reportedly) at 3c makes me think JPP will move to the top line. Could be Nelson or Beau. Who knows |

Good value for just a late first and some fluff pieces. That said, it's not the huge win some Isles fans think it is. Zajac is old and a shell of himself, he's not going to move the needle much at all. Palmieri is okay, a middle 6 winger really.
This makes the Isles a little better, but I still don't look at that roster and think they have the horses to take out the Avs, Bolts, Canes, etc, of the league. I think the Canes win that division. - prock
Was fully expecting Zajac to come in and bump Barzal as our number 1 center. Anything less would be a huge disappointment. |

I don’t really understand trotz’s seemed fixation with playing Zajac as a center. His numbers on either side of the puck don’t come close to Pageau. To me I would think slotting him in as a 3rd line winger who can jump in for a face off if needed and also on PK1 would to me seem optimum. |

They’re working on Zajac’s bust at the hall-of-fame as I type this. |

Peacock is right. If you don’t trade for first line all stars at the deadline their impact will be minimal. We should just forfeit the playoffs. |

Something like this is what I was thinking - and I think Schwein out together last night. I’ve said it a bunch but I don’t like three same shots on a line. But I never played with pros, so take that for what it’s worth. - TogaIsles
To me that means you don't know poop but that's just my opinion |

Funny that this board is now trying to figure out how to piece together lines with legit players as opposed to the who tanks the third line scenarios |

I don’t know about that but they certainly wouldn’t be first in the league. That division is a joke. The Leafs will implode if they make it out of it. Covid did them a favor. Best chance they have to actually win a round yippee |

What a great trade for the #isles.Lou has a knack for making deals that make sense. I expect one more before the deadline. Oh by the way , Uncle Leo has been great with Barzal, I believe Barry keeps him there for now. |

I don't know if they should over-think this. There's not a lot of time or room for failure in the standings to experiment too much. Team's on a roll, so I'm not sure how much they should mess with playing people in different roles/positions. I think the guys coming over from the not-so-great-right-now team should adjust to the team that's rolling rather than the other way around.
Like, the Nelson-at-LW experiment was tried years ago. He's been much more effective since they gave him a permanent home at C, and he understands his role and executes it well for the most part. Why go back to moving him all over the place again and risk screwing with his game right before the playoffs start?
Anyway, I'm a firm believer in not fixing what's not broken. Palmieri on Barzal's LW is far better than Komarov or Bellows there. And Zajac on Pageau's LW is way better than the entire cast of characters that have taken shifts there this season. But, we all know by now that Trotz isn't an idiot. I'm sure he'll push the right buttons and make it work. |

You and I both. I also have faith in trotz as well of course. The guy is one of if not best coaches in the league but I would be willing to bet we’ll wind up with exactly what we all want as far as the lineup is concerned when it’s all said and done. Why waste the time juggling lines just get on with it |

Not a fan. Pageau has been incredible as our third line center. Don’t agree with it but with that said I’m just excited to see these guys play tonight. |
