Yeah, because Murphy played so well in Q's system
- LAHawk
Q will take any D man back in trade because its really all about him wanting to run useless Keith Yandle's ass out of town.
Where has Viktor Svedburg gone, Q willing to consider. |

Florida needs rd and cap space to make big splash imo. - Scott1977 maybe in talks to expand the trade so hawks another prospect back possibly.

He doesn't really play well anywhere. He can't skate, can't make a pass. Has a decent shot and gets hit with shots a fair bit. He's a pylon |

It's a matter of "want". It's fun to score goals and play offense, it's not as much fun to back check and get in the way of shots. - GPHawksfan
The corollary to that perspective is that if you can't produce offensively then you better know how to play defense and do other things that help the team win or else you won't make it in the pros.
That's why you respect and root for players like Hagel and prospects like Entwistle, Slavin, Barratt, and Altybarmakian. They do whatever it takes to compete. |

Stillman is a dman, has to be for Murphy. ('') - GPHawksfan
Stillman is a dman, has to be for Murphy. ('') - GPHawksfan
Is Stillman better than any of the Hawks top D prospects? Why would we give up a veteran Dman who has been solid this year for two guys that are meh...and we are taking on salary. If Murphy or Keith are involved in this trade there better be more in terms of draft picks and prospects.
As far as Keith goes, I think I read he has custody of his kid. It might be difficult for him to waive his no trade during the season if that's the case. Just a thought.... |

Good for you. I'm not here to debate about Murphy. Some here like him and some don't. I'm in the latter category |

Trade completed
Brett Connolly, Riley Stillman and Henrik Borgstrom plus a 7th Rd pick in exchange for Lucas Carlsson and Lucas Wallmark.
Connolly has 2 more yrs at $3.5M AAV. Florida freeing up cap space as part of this. Hawks using their cap space to net 2 young players |

Borgstrom clearly the focus of that deal. Former #1 pick (23rd overall) in 2016. A natural center with good size (6'3" 200 pounds).
He's been tabbed with being inconsistent since being drafted but has worked harder at improving in his own end. High ceiling offensively, at least that was his M.O. on draft day and since then. |

Rumors posted on NHL News Twitter account:
- Teams are interested in Colin Miller from the Sabres and the Hawks, Wings, and Sharks might help broker the deal (per Darren Dreger).
- The Hawks, Bruins, and Sabres have kicked the tires on Elvis Merzlikins from the Jackets (per David Pagnotta). - Theo Fox
JFC I hope they don’t get Elvis Merzlikins. I can hear it now, Foley saying Elvis has left the building after turd teen turdy tree and he and Edzo giggling about it for years. |
