He was a regular for Washington when they won the cup, so he must know how to play in his own end as a forward if he played for Trotz. He would be a better fourth liner than Carpenter is.

We can put players on LTIR before the season, you just don't accrue any salary benefit during the year for the games they miss.

You also don't usually have Shaw, Seabrook and possible Toews (approx $20 mil.) who can't play. Toronto did it last year with Clarkson and Nathan Horton.

If Carlsson is the best player in this deal, then we lost the trade. Most if not each player both sides are not going to stick around. If Stillman is worthwhile, they do not trade him. We have to hope that the former first round kid is ok. Again if he was a descent prospect then Florida shouldn't have cared. We now are saddled with Connelly contract which is unnecessary. Rather they kept a couple pieces and gave us even a 4th. Bowman still reeling from Edsel sucks.

Carlsson would not be on the Hawks next year either thru expansion draft, or being probably #8 on the depth chart. My guess he plays in Europe next year. He is another Carl Dahlstrom

And Stilman upside greater than Carlsson IMO, and is a bit younger.

I remember him in games earlier in the year. He's not a pacifist like the other Hawks young dmen. He was chippy and would be considered dirty by many on here.
