I really like the trade but somehow I feel the odd man out will be Wahlstrom and that kid deserves to play.

Stupid really, the players don’t seem to mind and quite honestly have thrived under Lou and his Dictatorship.

I'm glad that Palms and Zajac get a shot to play some meaningful games. Being a native Long Islander that grew up as a Devil's fan there is a special level of hatred in my heart for the Isles but, I could actually see myself pulling for them simply for the sake of two great Devils.

As for the trade. The overhype on both sides is ridiculous. Devils fans that are lamenting and crying into their milk over the deal are crazy. Isles fans that think they got an absolute steal are likewise crazy.

19 and 21 are heart and soul guys but they've got 15 goals and around 35 points COMBINED this season. They're both on the wrong side of 30, they both had varying movement clauses, the cap is flat, they're both UFAs in a few weeks/months and they're both carrying some hefty cap hits. A first and a conditional 4th (3rd if you go guys go to the SCF) is fair payment all things considered. I'm not sure why there is such a clamor other than NJ sending heart and soul NJ types to a hated rival.

Either way, I've got utmost respect for both players and I'll be hoping they succeed .

We got the best two way player available at deadline (again) and a great depth player. Same people hating that laughed about JGP trade. Time will tell.

As I’ve said elsewhere, Kyle Palmeri with better cooling and improved aerodynamics is a smart move. And he was looking pretty ratty to boot. Lou knows what he’s doing. Screw the haters.

Honestly wasn’t sure where Palmieri would fit as we need a top line left wing but I have no doubt Trotz will slot him in the right spot and adjust players accordingly. He checks all the boxes for the type of player Trotz likes.
