No, I truly believe the organization is afraid to lose him for nothing prior to the playoff push.

Now is this because a deal is in the works? I doubt it, but it’s possible that Komarov might be some squads plan B.

Or perhaps Lou and company just want to hang on to him as a form of depth insurance.

What fans need to remember is that how we feel about losing Komarov is immaterial. The organization sees value in him.

Well said Schwein I agree. He’s a Swiss Army knife using Barry’s ( who should be fired ) phase. You can pretty much put him anywhere. Makes the easy play and definitely is a worth wild depth player after the roster restriction. You probs won’t see Leo after that.
But he is a good depth piece.

He’s going to be The Isles unprotected goalie in the expansion draft. Very smart move by Lou and Co.

I get that but if the organization saw so much value in Komarov then why did they throw his fat arse on the waiver wire not once but twice? Also, if “losing him for nothing” is a legit fear of Trotz and Lameriello’s I’m sorry they’re (frank)ing nuts and I’m going to question that thought process and I’m not saying that because I hate Komarov. How could they possibly think that after we lost toews and we will most definitely lose one of our UFA’s this summer due to salary? Nobody is taking this guy.

If we had an opportunity to lose him for nothing I think they would be all over it and if they weren’t they’re (frank)ing nuts. There’s more to this thing I don’t agree with what you’re saying.

Yep and whatever line you put him on he will make it exponentially worse. That’s indisputable but hey if I don’t see him after the roster restriction I’m all for it. Why did they put this awesome Swiss Army knife of a player on waivers twice?

Yep, nobody can answer that one. That’s why I don’t believe the whole they value him thought process. That speaks volumes more then some vague comment from trotz.

Doesn’t waiving the guy and trying to give him away for free contradict valuing him? I mean if they think he’s good depth I think that’s (frank)ing insane but ok. If we lose anyone in our top 6 and replace them with Komarov in the playoffs guess what? We’re done. Anyone who thinks otherwise dip your head in a bucket of ice. If that’s the concern get Hall trade Bellows and a second they’re never going to give the kid a chance anyway and dump Komarov with him. Like I said, throwing a guy on waivers twice doesn’t exactly depict them valuing him. You disagree? Nobody has been able to explain that one yet...
- Cptmjl

I don’t disagree at all was hoping you might have some insight when you said “there is more to this.” 😂 The good news is we have two days left and then we get to just watch hockey. Hopefully without Komarov on the first line 😅😅. I do have to admit it’s fun as hell being on here breaking chops and arguing with each other on certain players such as Komarov, Bailey, Bellows, etc. One would think that bringing in Trotz game time player decisions and Lou for roster spots would have all but eliminated that 😆😆.

They didn’t put the “awesome” Swiss Army Knife on waivers twice. I don’t believe Bailey was on waivers
As far as Leo who is a Swiss Army knife in the fact he can play many positions and is reliable and plays a simple north, south game being placed on waivers twice? I’m going to say it was because he had to go on waivers to go to the taxi squad I belive.

Komarov would have to be an add on to a deal. Probably get a 7th round pic for him. He has zero value. Just waive him and leave him on the taxi squad until someone gets hurt. Nobody wants him.

Was on waivers twice and wasn’t claimed either time. You think (and I won’t include the super valuable guys) Beau or Wahlstrom were put on waivers they wouldn’t have been claimed? Just curious.

I agree with the later part of your comments but I don’t think he’s even worth a 7th round pic at his AAV. If he were being paid $1m maybe $1.5 then he actually might have value IMO.

You can dodge the question, that’s fine. The fact is he was on waivers twice already and claimed zero times.
Edit: I’ll even say if he were being paid a reasonable aav you might be able to call him a Swiss Army knife. But he’s paid far too much for his worth, is not a first line winger and is waive worthy and wouldn’t be claimed...yet again.

Yeah it’s because they’re praying some stupid team let’s them trade his fat arse with a pick for whoever we fill that last 3 million of space with. They don’t value him come on

Sometimes, just depends. I try to give my honest opinion. Sometimes it goes with the majority and sometimes it doesn’t.

BTW I’m an Uber Driver.
