Be really nice if these young kids keep growing, should see Borgen back soon. Be interesting to see what happens when he's ready. Could have a nice influx of young talent. - Buff36
pretty exciting, actually...it's quite the influx of young talent to go with the likes of eichel and dahlin...
they need to lay off the vets next year...i know i've been a big fan of bringing some in to take off the pressure, but not after what i saw these past two seasons (save for staal..though he sucked on the ice, i think having him really helped cozens grow) |

GMTM was such a genius. 2016 great draft for him. Basically got Joker, Skinner, Asplund and that kid. |

asplund and casey, one of those could get 55 points next year if given a top 6 spot - homiedclown
Asplund is shooting 33.3% right now and has never been a big point producer.
He’s going to regress to the mean eventually but he’s definitely shown he can be a bottom 6 NHL’er though which at this point we’ll take it. |

Botts traded Nylander for Joker and traded for Skinner.
Debrincant went a few picks after Asplund.

After hearing the Hall comments, I am glad he is gone. Based on reports and stuff, he wanted to sign in Bos before he signed with us but didn’t want to wait for Bos to make other moves.
Dude, you want to get paid like a superstar but want to be shielded from the outside and be “one of the guys”.
He stopped playing and the team played better. You are a wuss, Mr. Hall.
I hope Risto puts you in the bench.

With just what's remaining on the roster, not factoring in the draft, expansion draft, and assuming Quinn and Peterka need another year, how does this forward lineup work:
Skinner - Eichel - Reinhart
Olofsson - Cozens - Ruotsalainen
Asplund - Mittelstadt - Thompson
Bjork - Girgensons - Okposo
Eakin (extra) |

Be honest. If you're a free agent, which team would you rather play for: one in Cup contention, or a perennial bottom feeder that just gutted their hockey department in the name of "maintaining their lifestyle"?
Anyone who criticizes Hall for wanting to go to Boston instead of Buffalo in the summer is living in a world of delusion.

Might be in the minority but I actually like it, well depends on if they all keep improving. A lot of youth, but could really have the potential to grow as a team. Bad thing expensive 4th line |

Feels like it's forcing 5 bottom 6 LW's into the lineup. It's early, of course.

Could work Girgs and Okposo know eachother obviously, it's to bad that line couldn't get a little time together this year, see if they could form a little chemistry. |

But that point becomes irrelevant when the guy signing the checks seems to see it as needlessly spent money. After all it could’ve, might’ve gone the opposite of your hopeful scenario. No team thought it worthwhile to claim him on that contract to see if it might work out and he’d possibly re-sign this offseason. - Ratsreign
Needlessly spent money wasn’t your original point
It was about “risk”
But there was none
And we don’t know of it would’ve been needlessly spent $$$ or not
If he would’ve worked out, then it wouldn’t have been needlessly spent if we signed him
Sure, we could technically still sign him as a UFA:
-if he gets to UFA
-and if he’d consider us
-but now if becomes an actual risk bc we don’t know if he will be a good fit or not bc we didn’t claim him
So would spending the extra $$$ be worth it?
Imo, yes. Bc we really need to add offensive talent to our team.
An again- there was no “risk” in doing so
Just the possibility of MAYBE wasting what amounts to be pocket change for our billionaire owners
I care more about this team getting better than their wallet though
For those who disagree- that’s fine
Agree to disagree
My opinion shouldn’t bother you |

That might be a bit of a reach
But they’re both playing well enough to look like they could be productive parts of our future |
