With just what's remaining on the roster, not factoring in the draft, expansion draft, and assuming Quinn and Peterka need another year, how does this forward lineup work:
Skinner - Eichel - Reinhart
Olofsson - Cozens - Ruotsalainen
Asplund - Mittelstadt - Thompson
Bjork - Girgensons - Okposo
Eakin (extra) - kingcong39
Last place. Again.

Kid is playing some good hockey - Buff36
I was thinking of KA when I saw this earlier this morning. I think if there is one thing that really should give us some hope for the draft is that Adams identified a guy that he wanted and (very correctly) moved up to get him. He has a lot of murrency to do that again this year. This is where I think the number of scouts that an organization has can be really, really overrated. I am not saying that aren't important.... you've seen lots of teams with a ton of scouts draft terribly.
A little nugget from Adams presser yesterday - he said they want to play fast and that's why they liked Bjork. I think statements like that make it a tad more likely that Granato gets the gig.

granato is killing me...every time i want to stick by my initial thought that the sabres can't afford to hire another rookie head coach, i listen to one of his interviews he pulls me into a thought process i so much agree with

Seems like a silly exercise because that won't be the roster on opening night.
Also, the season never seems to go as it looks on paper. One of these years it might be true in our favor. As we've seen the right coach and the right goalie make a world of difference.

FL’s one million is prorated, so he gave up like 750k to get out of NJ - Ratsreign
Oh is it? I wasn't sure how that would work. If I were him, I'd probably do it too. Your value decreases if you're not playing. Might as well not only join a playoff team, but try to pump your value in a system where you think you fit.

I wonder if Harrington's ego even fits inside the KeyBank Center? His smarmy attitude comes across blatantly in his writing. - kingcong39
yeah...he did very well laying out what adams has been thrown into as a rookie gm, then blasted him for the hall trade including shots like gm's lining up behind sweeney this summer to take advantage of him and on Eichel and his injury, "If he's damaged, you can't trade him now and sell super low on the face of the franchise."

yes...i know...but i also know there's a big difference between the interview process and actual coaching...there's a big difference between saying the right things and doing the right things...yeah, he's done the right things right now, but there's absolutely no pressure on him, the players and the team...and that's troublesome to me

Sure, but by that same logic you really can't get upset over the outcome of a premise that won't happen.

Its like basically a crap shoot. If we just had that crystal ball!
Anyways, it should be a interesting off season.
I thought last off season had a lot of potential w the Stall and Hall additions.
Boy did I get sucked in! And boy am I disappointed!! |

Yeah, they signed him for 1yr/$1mill, contract works just as you described it in your initial post, so only 1/4 season is left to pay. |

Sure but I'm not upset and as we move or add others players we can insert them into the lineup.
This is a better topic to discuss than some of the recent BS on this blog!! |

Adams explained why he fits.
Say what you want about the guy, but he appears to have a long term vision for the players that he wants to collect. Good for him I guess.

granato has done a great job with the kids and girardi seems to have done extremely well with the defense...ullmark seems to like what mike bales has done so there's room for one addition to the staff to work with the forwards and the pp...
if granato's retained, that one spot should be filled with an experienced assistant who can help guide granato through the twists and turns of a full nhl season when something's on the line |

Care about how Adams got thrown to the wolves, don't really care about the other stuff, actually posted it because of some of the stuff talked about yesterday on here. Harrington is who he is. |

I dunno. Maybe they do. I don't know if he's a quality 4th liner. If he fits in well and does his job, remove someone that doesn't do their job or gets paid too much for an underwhelming performance.
All I know is that it's nice to have a guy with a vision instead of a pair of bros using picks and prospects for replacement level doods.

Bjork was very talented coming out, just hasn't translated yet. Maybe Granato gets that out of him. |
