granato has done a great job with the kids and girardi seems to have done extremely well with the defense...ullmark seems to like what mike bales has done so there's room for one addition to the staff to work with the forwards and the pp...

if granato's retained, that one spot should be filled with an experienced assistant who can help guide granato through the twists and turns of a full nhl season when something's on the line

To be honest, I've resigned myself to the notion that he will have the interim tagged removed because that's how this team seems to operate.

He's done well considered the hand he's dealt, but we also have to remember that there is now almost zero pressure on him or his team. No matter how well or poorly they play, they'll still be in last place.

The Sabres had a better offer from a wester conference team but Hall said no.

I hope someone runs him over.

- ImThatGuy

I’d like to see Risto light him up...

4 wins behind the Wings for 7th. That would be a good benchmark for him to hit with 17 games remaining. Won't be easy

Edit: I meant the Devils

I dunno. Maybe they do. I don't know if he's a quality 4th liner. If he fits in well and does his job, remove someone that doesn't do their job or gets paid too much for an underwhelming performance.

All I know is that it's nice to have a guy with a vision instead of a pair of bros using picks and prospects for replacement level doods.

- TheSabresTaco

Who sits for him to play barring no injuries?

I think maybe they claimed him thinking someone like Rieder or Sheahan would be gone.

Care about how Adams got thrown to the wolves, don't really care about the other stuff, actually posted it because of some of the stuff talked about yesterday on here. Harrington is who he is.

and i have respect for him as a journalist...don't care for his style but i also realize that he's had to cover this sh!tshow for the last 10 years under the pegulas...it ain't the easiest thing to do

Idk, it's kind of the perfect time to be him. He just gets to be mad at everyone who is dumber than him

Why? It was completely his right to do so. He agreed to the one year term with the understanding that he got to pick his team. He had asked us for multiple years with no NMC but we only wanted one year. Hence the NMC.

I mean at this point I hope they only win a few more games, and the games they do lose they are in it from start to finish and they are entertaining.

We’ve come this far now, might as well go for Beniers, Guenther, Eklund

Yeah, he had a trade with the Islanders to before Palmieri went there, Lou got Zajac included and he went with that one. It's finished time to move on.

This is Kim and Terry Pegula we are talking about. Regardless of how Granato has this team playing and how good the kids look, the Pegula way will be to walk away from Granato.

They will then hire Ott as head coach because he has proven to be a good assistant, has buffalo ties and is not a center.

Now Ott could be a fine coach. But the Pegula way says to step away from what might be working and jump right back into the unknown.

Between the scout-o-matic 9000, the possibility of dropping to 3rd even if we suck the most and just general Sabres luck, I'd rather see them pull this out of the fire to whatever extent possible.

We need to start making sacrifices to the hockey gods to atone for our tanking sins.

I was done with losing on purpose 3 years ago. I'm very done now

this...my only solution if that's the case is bringing in some experience as an assistant...ideally a seasoned former head coach near the end of his coaching career willing to check his ego at the door and mentor granato...does this person exist?...probably...will they look for and/or find one?...

past results say no

Bjork was very talented coming out, just hasn't translated yet. Maybe Granato gets that out of him.
- Buff36

Hoping the same. If he can pull the NHL out of a trio of tweeners, maybe he can do the same with Bjork. If so, we'll have a nice cheap complimentary player on our hands.

Skinner-Reinhart-Olofsson
Asplund-Mittelstadt-Thompson
Bjork-Cozens-Okposo
Reider-Sheahan-Caggiula

And that's how we bench Eakin.

i don't know him personally, but even though i don't like his style, i do know that the pegulas really rubbed TBN the wrong way during the initial meeting terry had with them...his cynicism is warranted and his smarmy attitude is what TBN has seemingly wanted to foster since kelley
