With just what's remaining on the roster, not factoring in the draft, expansion draft, and assuming Quinn and Peterka need another year, how does this forward lineup work:
Skinner - Eichel - Reinhart
Olofsson - Cozens - Ruotsalainen
Asplund - Mittelstadt - Thompson
Bjork - Girgensons - Okposo
Eakin (extra) - kingcong39

I posted what the forward roster looks like for next season as of now because it both gives a clear idea of where improvements are needed and it also comes into play regarding the expansion draft.
Here are my 7 forwards I would protect for the expansion draft:
Eichel, Skinner, Reinhart, Mittelstadt, Olofsson, Asplund, Thompson
I understand those that would want to protect Girgensons over Thompson.
I only took Thompson for the higher upside hope and due to the injury Girgensons had. - kingcong39
Why not expose Skinner? |

Hopefully Peterka is taking that spot in a few years. - Buff36
He's taken a big step. He surpassed his last year's point total in 24 less games (over half the season). At this point he's crept into most people's top prospect rankings if they're top50 or more. I actually have higher hopes for him than Quinn right now. |

Doesn't he have a NMC so he has to be? I could be wrong, but I thought I'd read that. |

Sounds about right. Google says Army of Me came out in 95, but i lived in Buffalo at the time and probably didn't hear it until 96 so it checks out. |

I have high hopes for both, but Peterka is looking more and more like a steal right know. Has a non stop motor and isn't shy about the physical stuff, he could fit perfectly into what it seems Adams wants this team to look like. |

Yet, Adams traded him for virtually
+'s:
-Got a 2nd round pick
-dumped $4m in Cap
-'s:
-took on a Cap Dump to reduce the Cap Savings to just $2m+
-traded away a decent, cheap 4th liner who was good in the locker room
-got a 2nd in a very unusual draft year in which their Scouting Dept is in a state of shambles...not very confident the 2nd will amount to anything
Yes, Hall had a full NMC...he controlled the situation ..
That is until a sharp GM points out his value is severely depressed based on past 3 months...and likely to further erode over next month...but going to a PO team would give him the opportunity to rebuild his image...so allow Sabres to trade him to one of several PO teams...or rot in potentially Buffalo costing himself $M's.
It wasn't a 1 way street as painted on this board. - IonSabres
I’d have to agree with you after reading this. If adams had a better offer on the table from another team, and Hall refused to play there, adams could have simply said “enjoy playing on the 3rd line and second unit PP the rest of the year hear then and let’s see how your free agency stock looks this summer” |

How does that work in expansion? Would that handcuff every expansion team? I’m not sure on the rule |

what does letting him "rot" in Buffalo do for him or the sabres?

Couldn't agree more. We need more compete, sounds like he's 110% go.
Didn't know he threw the weight around, I haven't watched the DEL games, just have a buddy who sends around compilations from some stream he has. He has some good power moves that get him to the net, but didn't see him hitting too much. That's good news. |

As far as I understand it, it's basically that all players with NMC/NTCs have to waive them in order to be exposed to expansion. I just don't really know if Skimmer has one or not. :/ |

I'm not sure Seattle takes on a 9M contract even if so, think I'd be talking to Francis first to gauge his interest before going to Jeff. Even asking could sour the milk and it's pretty putrid already. |

Rot for no reason, nothing. Rot in Buffalo or accept the better offer that was presented potentially has huge upside but is a gamble. KA does not strike me as a gambler so I’m sure Boston smelled the desperation and got Lazar out of the deal plus a cap dump and salary dump on us |

I agree, was just answering the ?, would be surprised if he would anyway he waived and signed here to be closer to family in the first place. |

Agree with your take here. If you go through an expansion draft, and lose Girgs (without paying them off to take him), it's a good outcome. Sorry Boss.
Funny how quickly things can change. A month ago, consensus was 8 skaters. |

I think the only fair criticism of Adams in this deal was his inability to get any kind of conditional first from Boston, even if the parameters were outrageous and unlikely.
I dont agree with the hardball stuff at all. If Adams got nothing that would have been ridiculous |
