Why worry about adding offence when all you need is Kuemper in net and you win 1 to zip every game.
- Camel
Bc we need better goaltending
AND
more offense

Seems like a silly exercise because that won't be the roster on opening night.
Also, the season never seems to go as it looks on paper. One of these years it might be true in our favor. As we've seen the right coach and the right goalie make a world of difference. - Slump Buster

As far as I understand it, it's basically that all players with NMC/NTCs have to waive them in order to be exposed to expansion. I just don't really know if Skimmer has one or not. :/ - RhinoFan
Partially correct
If a player has a NMC, he must be protected
If he just has a NTC, he doesnโt have to be
According to CapFriendly,
Skinner is the only player on our team with a NMC |

Same.
There's nothing he did that was like oh wow that was nice. Drake and Anders could be nice role players for us going forward. Sending an old horse to the glue factory for a 3rd and a 5th was a nice piece of business, getting a 3rd for a defenseman who can't play defense was fine, and the Hall trade, considering there was one team to deal with, along with his entire 2 goals for 4M, was fine.
B-, C+. - TheSabresTaco
C+ is fair. If heโd moved more UFA even for 4-6 round picks Iโd give him a B |

You all keep talking about Lazar like he's some high important asset. He's a decent fourth liner.. Like that's it. He's so replaceable. And if you are that concerned with the "cap dump" buy him out. You know how much it costs to do that? 283K for 3 years, and 83K for a year... O the sky is falling. - SDSabre

Itโs roughly the same as when ppl lost their minds about us losing Kahun
Just not that big of a deal whatsoever

Not to further depress everyone but yesterday Bulldog all but confirmed the fabled "Risto for Ehlers" deal but Botterill wasnt willing to do a mid-round pick swap - jcragcrumple
Since when does Bulldog have โinside infoโ though? |

I like Lazar. Better than Kahun. Heโll be an asset in Boston. Maybe even more productive/useful than Hall. Will life go on, yet but Boston was smart to target him |

I liked Lazar & Kahun as well
Just donโt think losing either is a big deal
We have an abundance of bottom6 guys,
and Iโm happy to see Asplund & Routsalainen & Mitts, etc etc getting a look |

Sheahan probably most similar. Heโs with keeping around. Very serviceable bottom 6 guy |

He hits so much because he never has the puck. But yeah I guess he's tough. - TheSabresTaco
Jeff skinner 5 goals 3 assists 9 million. Not a tough guy or hitter.
Easy match ups
Risto 4 goals 9 assists 5.4 million. Plays defense.
Good offensive defenseman
Tough match ups

Agree with some of what you're saying, Adams painted himself into the corner with the NMC, but no way you say fine rot here, still got pieces and that 2nd rnd pick could help. - Buff36
And your points are valid as well.
With a new GM under duress, I think it is critical to establish early on he won't be taken as a fool by being absolutely fleeced.
It doesn't set a very good precedent.
Not a hill I want to die on, but it is real.

what does letting him "rot" in Buffalo do for him or the sabres? - Michael Pachla
It's negotiations.
He says Bruins only, or nothing, forcing Adams into a situation that doesn't allow him to optimize an $8m investment for 2 G's.
Ok then, if its Bruins or nothing, nothing it is.
Depends on if you believe as a relative novice in a captive market of 32 competitors whether one needs to establish credibility as a tough bit fair negotiator.
If you don't believe that, then you won't get it. |
