cup-winning goalie jordan binnington is making $4m right now and it jumps to $6m next season...he started 50 games in 2019/20 and 30 so far this season...he's a workhorse...

jake allen never played in less than 37 games (ullmark's career high) from his rookie season through 2018/19...he's making $4.3M this season

The better he plays now to the end of the year the price to sign him goes up. I’m going to say this was mismanaged and he won’t be back.

Pandemic or not, when you take a key player straight to UFA, you're making a mistake.

I wouldn't slam the door though. He could hit UFA and Buffalo could be his best option/offer.

Yes, it’s on the GM if guys like Nick Foligno and David Savard, two guys who are also underperforming this year, and weren’t former MVP’s, get 1st round picks and he can’t get one for Hall.

I mean I know we should have all this faith in Adams considering how he’s knocked it outta the park so far with waiting forever to fire Krueger, acquiring a disaster of a 2C, and doing nothing about the goalies.

markstrom is a bona fide starting goalie with 60 games started in consecutive seasons followed by 43 in last year's shortened season...

demko was a reach and put visions of grandeur in the collective head of the ullmark camp...

however...point taken

If Ullmark gets traded to backup another goalie its going to hurt his value sitting on the bench for all but 2-3 games.

That's why I said I was worried yesterday, I heard his agent asked for over 6m a year over 5 and tooth heard 6.5 today. As soon as Demko got 5 a year Ullmark's price went up.

To be fair the Staal trade was a worthwhile gamble. We gave up a scrub winger and it didn't work out for either team. As for the other stuff...

retain half, trade him to tampa for a prospect, second and McElhinney
