I just feel terrible for you guys...
As much as the leafs and Sabres fans hate each other, you guys don't deserve this... just like the habs, I rather the battles mean something.... I really hope something hits on a positive for your fan base soon, you guys deserve better.

Kevyn might have a great future as a GM, but this is a hell of an organization for a rookie GM to be cutting his teeth on. Pegula needs to stop franking around and bring in some real management. Very disheartening. |

Who cares if we retain on a rental.
Would rather have had lazar than bjork. I find it hard to believe no one else would give a 2nd for hall - Mentalorgasm5
I’m with you. We lost on this trade. Couldn’t get a 2nd straight up because he held out I’m sure. I would almost guarantee that or better was on the table at one point, now we lose one of our best depth players to get a late 2nd |

I don't fear it at all. We weren't even sure he was a number one until this year. Goalies are everywhere. - Slump Buster
Wait, are you saying you're now sure Ullmark is a number one goaltender? |

There was smoke on some front office reinforcements coming but that's gone quiet, right at a time we could use them as well. |

Boston is struggling. They could very well miss the playoffs ( they do play Buf a lot tho , so prolly not). It’ll end up being a middle second, which is better then an Edmonton 2nd |

Sabres picks in this draft are
First
2 seconds
2 thirds
4th
5th
6th
2 sevenths
Scout-O-matic 3000 - Powerslave
They'd be better off using the method below to draft:
- Export all draft eligible player production in Excel
- Apply filter
- Sort by highest point totals to lowest
- Take the highest scoring player left per their Excel sort each time they pick |

A little brightness
Skinner Eichel Rhino
Tage Mitts Asplund
Rusto Cozens Olofsson
Bjorn Eakins Okposo
If they keep growing has the makings of a decent top 9.
And there's still time to add, tomorrow and at the draft. He has draft capital and will have Cap space. - Buff36
Their 4th line next year should be Bjork - Girgensons - Okposo as Eakins should never see the ice again.
That 4th line is expensive.
Worse will be having $12M total in cap hit tied up in the bottom 4 forwards on their roster. Just brutal cap management. |

It's so Buffalo though for the Bruins to potentially miss the playoffs but they don't because the Sabres have a stirring comeback against the Flyers, so instead of the Flyers only being 2 points back of Boston, they're 4 points back and now Boston will go on a run with Hall and eventually Lazar when he returns from injury. |

There is a clear line between Boston and the top contenders in the league. Their age has finally caught up with them. It’ll be a mid second. Don’t get all the doom and gloom. We really care that much about the Lazar Bjork swap this bad? Lazar was on his way out of the league before he came to the worst team in the nhl to be in the fourth line. KA now has the draft capital to perhaps swing a deal for another peterka |

With Bjork being double the cap hit for longer term, yes, exchanging Lazar for him matters, especially with respect to the cost of their bottom 4 forwards in the mix for the 4th line below. A $12M cap hit? Brutal.
Eakin $2.2M
Girgensons $2.2M
Bjork $1.6M
Okposo $6M |

Yeah his 1.6 in this scenario is really the problem here🙄
The outage here and on cap friendly is a bit overboard considering: hall’s NTC, cap hit in a flat cap, and his mediocre to poor play this year. We signed him and Lazar for nothing. Got a mid second out of it. And if you are that concerned about Bjork buy him out. It’s less then 1M hit over 4 years, being 288k at its highest point. |

How many more 4th liners do they need to overpay for with regard to cap hit and term? |

I don't have a huge issue with Bjork, but I do have a big problem with them consistently targeting 4th line level talent and overpaying them in cap hit and term.
Take out Okposo.
Does a 4th line of Eakin, Girgensons, and Bjork at $6M sound like quality cap and asset management? |

Get KO to have jock itch and Eakin to a team who’s only issue is face offs. Play Girgs, Bjork and a ELC kid. 4.5M bottom line. 1.6 isn’t nearly the killer your trying to make it out to be |

Out of those three Bjork is the least want to gag about. I hated the Girgs deal. Same with Eakin. But I’m not concerned with switching out Lazar Larry for Bjork Larry |

I'm not making it out to be a killer.
Just another in a decade long series of questionable decisions, which seems clear when the solution to alleviate the issue is to all but pray 2 of the players magically disappear like you suggested above, which is much easier said then done, as you know. |

Questionable how? You can buy him out for nothing. His contract is nothing. It’s the least egregious of the four players you mentioned. Look around the league and show me a team with the perfect b bottom line of league minimum players. There’s like 2. Issue has and will be not enough high end talent. Not whether Bjork is still on the team in 2 seasons or if we resigned laser again |

Not impressed with the Hall trade. Not one little bit.
How does Hall not equate to a first-round pick when Foligno does?

The Sabres are arguably the worst run franchise out of the 4 major sports. Hell even Ottawa has a bright future. Maybe the Pirates are the worst? |
