Yeah there are reasons to think like you, for sure, but getting a 2nd round pick for a player we paid nothing to get and who has all of 2 goals is not high on that list. Hall is washed the frank up.

With it being a buyers market and with a flat cap teams know that they will need cheap players on ELC to compete, unless you are Tampa who seems to have everyone on LTIR until the playoffs

Columbus has done very well but that doesn't seem the norm this year

Palms and zajac to the isles for a late 1st and 2 AHL players, and we all know Lou loves zajac so probably threw in a little more to get him, he tried last year but zajac used his NTC/NMC but with him being a UFA and close to family he probably agreed since his family doesn't need to be disrupted

But hall isn't scoring and doesn't have the step he used to.

I don't know what most of you were expecting. Hall was really, really awful. I'm happy with the 2nd rounder...more than I would have paid for the guy.

The same people on here that can't stand Risto will whine about his return, should he be traded. "He was worth a first rounder !!!" - oh really ? You hated him forever, think he's horrible, yet he's suddenly going to be worth a first.

If I were a Sabres fan I wouldn’t be disappointed in the return I would be more upset about Hall turning in a garbage performance and hurting his value.

Eichel won't be traded because he puts fans in seats and is a big marketing ploy. The pegulas will milk the cash cow dry.

If the sabres can't put it together then he may get even more frustrated but what real power does he have until he is a UFA

You can say he can demand a trade but that doesn't mean it will make the sabres do it, knowing they control his fate under contract

If he sits out and refuses to play then the sabres won't get too dollar and will suspend him and will turn it into eichel is selfish and not a team player

It's better than NFL contracts where a player signs a contract, has a good season and then threatens not to show up unless he gets more money but won't take a pay cut if they have a bad season

Hall is a great example of why fancy stats are just plain useless...he has positive fenwick and corsi, and people expect goals will be scored by him. But anyone with at least one working eye can see he was garbage at everything. Bad zone entries, bad protecting the puck, super bad at playing defense, bad at actually scoring, doesn't seem to bring intangibles, soft in corners, does not go to the front of the net...how the hell can expected goals be a positive number for a player that has one goal since the first game of the year?
