Hes not good.
- ImThatGuy

he came back from shoulder surgery in 2019 and put up respectable numbers in '19/'20...got an opportunity to play in a scoring role early this season but it didn't happen...coach lost trust in him as bjork still hasn't figured out his place in the nhl...that's what i've red so far...

am keeping expectations very low

Like when you chastised anyone this past offseason who had the temerity to suggest the Sabres moves weren't all sunshine and rainbows and were actually bad moves?

Every single person in this organization deserves the blame, and that is including Adams who brought in Hall to electrify the first line with Eichel, that failed. He brought in Staal to be a second line center, that failed. He let a coach continue to be employed and self destruct this team when all of us "idiots" screamed for him to be canned.

What was the strategy with Hall when he was signed, shouldn't it have been well if he scores 30 with Jack we can resign him, if he doesn't he's a trade chip. Now shouldn't he have been on the trade block over a month ago when the teams season was over? The trade is what it is but for everyone defending Adams give me a break.

Rittich got a third.

Ullmark should be a second, then right?

- ImThatGuy

Maybe they wanted a second but today it’s a third at best. Maybe Montreal. They need goaltending insurance.

or maybe he'll be happy to get out and get a fresh start...it wasn't going very well for him in beantown...not saying that he'll suddenly blossom, just trying to make some lemonade
- Michael Pachla

I believe a 4th line of Bjork - Girgensons - Okposo would be a quality 4th line.

The cap hit is what hurts.

If they roll with the above and a 3rd line of Tage - Casey - Asplund, that leaves a LOT of work to be done for lines 1 and 2, and that will be no small effort.

Believe me, I'm not here to defend Adams, but it's much more complicated than
"Hall is former MVP so he's worth a lot", when the truth is, we received exactly what he's currently worth, considering his high cap and low production. Signing Hall for one year to see how he'd be was honestly a slick move. Brining in Staal for an equally useless player in Johansson? Yeah that was a smart move too, and Staal decided this was the year to mail it in. I don't blame him for that one.

The team needs to be better, and Kevyn needs to make the right moves and hires to facilitate that. Not having faith in him to do that should be the reason why people are angry. Not this trade.

- TheSabresTaco

100% this trade today is exactly what Hall is worth. My point is the moment you signed Hall there should have been a trade plan for him when the season started going south, and that was fairly early on. The chances you could have gotten more than this trade I have to imagine would have been a bit higher. We all have our riffs with Darcy but when he traded Vanek in October 2013 it was an absolutely incredible move to be proactive like that. I disagree with you on Staal, 3rd or 4th line center sure, but he thought he could fill the 2nd line.

Right now all Adams has been doing is making "comfortable" moves. Nobody has any idea what the actual vision is for the type of team he is trying to build. Murray was incredibly bad with asset management but we all saw he was attempting to build a more western conference type team.

His terrible production with his contract and his NMC didn’t help

The Lazar for Bjork was done for cap purposes to make this trade work

Like I posted earlier I really hope it comes out that Hall wouldn’t waive to go anywhere else and that Adams had better offers

MSM insiders almost universally pegged him at a 3rd. Which, again, is less disappointing than his production.
- TheSabresTaco

Uh, what? Any examples of this sweeping narrative he was getting a 3rd?

Jeff (frank)ing Carter just got a 3rd and 4th

Adams the Snail has a lot of work to do with very little time, help or experience. No reason to think success is a long shot.

yeah I remember how much I loved the Eakin, Reider and Irwin contracts. Hall and Staal were good moves, and Broads was the only one who hated Staal. Don't lay that poop on me.

All for it. Honestly does it really matter that Larry lazar got moved? Was he the linchpin to getting this team back to the playoffs? Everyone who cares more about that then how hall is basically a terrible hockey player here is looking at it wrong imo.

I know we follow a lot of the same people on twitter and it's weird how a few are carrying water for Adams.

It's almost as if they hammered JB on literally everything possible that they now can't admit the next guy looks awful too.

Adams absolutely needs some help, but he looks lost so far

i thought lazar made some great progress while in buffalo...however, he went from a fringe nhl'er to a decent fourth line/depth player who did some good things...nuthin to cry over...save for what kong pointed out in that they're paying more for a player who's a fourth-liner right now
