Josh Manson is the kinda D teams get a hard on for. Rakell being young and cost controlled should be worth a late first too.

I’m actually scared to sign him to a long term deal. He’s been good this year but he has been wildly inconsistent the last few years. He’s also 27

Here is the thing. Foligno and Palmeri were not on the market anymore. They are no longer in the equation.

Hall is going to go play on Bostons top line and most likely produce.

Are there really no conditions on the Hall trade? How many games he plays, how many goals, how far Boston goes, etc.? Like, Boston wouldn't have flipped to a #1 if it won the Cup?

I’m not sure but as much as everyone wants to blame Ralph for the disaster season I really hope the players don’t use that as an excuse. If they all look into the mirror at the same time they will clearly see the problems were on a long list.
The guys that are now starting to play their best hockey of the year should tell you either of 2 things. One it’s fools gold and the other is they just needed a chance to play over a high priced vet.

's report that the Sabres are not trading goalie Linus Ullmark today.

Two sides will continue to talk about a contract extension for Ullmark. And to clear up another rumor: there has been no talk at all about Ullmark testing the market first.

I do this, with maybe Raanta as a backup. Guy who you can get cheap but can play well when Ullmark can't.

Anything over 4.25 to me is an overpayment for a guy who has not proven he is a long term starter.

Foligno for the Leafs, yes. Palmieri instead of Hall, no. But they used a middle 6 C and a middle 6 F for a late first. Too bad Hall didn't (frank)ing do anything this year.

But EVERYONE on these boards has seen Hall's play this year. And has cried and whined about it. How many "Get Hall outta here now!!" posts have we seen in the last month? And every single pro scout in the league has seen his play, too.

But Adams got "fleeced". Good Lord.

adams might be a terrible gm but he's going to be more successful than the last two because for the first time in forever we have developed players outside of top 2 overall picks contributing in the NHL

conditionals is a good point i hadn't thought of

but as far as getting worked, hall has been held out for a week, probably in conversations for over a month

in what world does this lead to adams not getting a feel of his true value? did he just never present current best offer to other teams? how would this even be possible?

I'd agree but that would suggest that I'm defending the awesome job the Sabres are doing, being in the President's Trophy race for the 10th year in a row and all. Also, they should have never fired Ralph Krueger and Terry should be the official GM.

I think term is something to more worried about

Demko getting 5 years at $5 million makes the $4.25 not happening
