Not directed entirely at you, but can someone explain to me what there realistic expectations were for the TDL?
I mean he moved 4 players in the last two weeks - Stripes77
I think I should take this opportunity to clarify my anger and frustration with this franchise.
This roster, on paper, should be sitting pretty for the playoffs right now. But as the year progressed it looks as though everyone from the back room staff to the team president had no (frank)ing clue what they were doing and ruined what should have been the best roster we have had in years. I get that the likes of Hall and Staal may not have been what they once were....but there was talent in this roster....real, raw talent the likes of which this franchise hadn't seen in years. And we end the season as the laughing stock of the league and among the candidates for worst team of all time.
I'm a huge Manchester United fan. They are a team that were perennial contenders..but the last ten years they have overpaid for players and underperformed. All the while they are hyper-focused on their image and selling the latest bullpoop maschination of their uniform. The trend started when they were taken over by owners who didnt have a clue as to how to run their franchise and were more interested in just milking a cash cow with a loyal fanbase.....sound familiar? |

Sabres are in great hands you guys have convinced me.
They are so close to being a good team, I can feel it.
The Peguals have constructed a great hockey department and robust pro personnel and scouting staff.
This cant fail. No way no how. |

Sure the player has the power. But the GMs job is to get the best return for an asset.
Mattias Janmark got a 2nd and 3rd.

The player controlled where he went and (more importantly) had an 8 million dollar cap hit. I don't get why this is so hard for you to understand. KA was short on magic beans. |

This doesn't require the Sabres to give into his and Boston's demands the day before the deadline.
They got played. Whatever. - sbroads24
So if he only wanted to go to Boston and we Waited to the very last minute they could have easily said take the 4th round pick or let him stay
Oh then we have people saying O he waited too long etc ..

Creative organizations found a way to make cap hits work.
There were 6-7 3 team deals this year all holding cap hit. |

We all know they don’t right now
Yet some apparently had high expectations of Adams today???
He kept Ullmark & traded the UFAs who had some value
Anyone upset about not getting some low round picks should really just step off the ledge & get a hug from their mommy - jdfitz77
I wanted Risto and Miller gone but oh well. Whens the draft and free agency?

no, we're not saying "good job kevyn"...the market is the market and there was one team that an underachieving $8m forward who had all the power wanted to go to...the choice was simple, trade him for that or keep him and let him walk for nothing at the end of the year...it was very underwhelming but he was cutting his losses |

At the absolute best case for the pro-kevyn team (There isn't really one) it was actually more like "meh, what ya gonna do, NTC, better than nothing" Can I now do a what the anti-kevyn squad has been like:
This (frank)ing clown is paying an extra 800k on a fourth liner, he sucks so much balls, get him out of here. Nevermind the biggest issue is the overpayment of guys he had no say in, but f him. And only a second (even tho most prognosticated a 3rd) WITHOUT a condition to make it 3 firsts down the road because he's clearly over his head. |

Seeing how hall Basically saying he had control to pick Boston it doesn't matter
Other teams probably had better offers but hall had all control |

I keep seeing this, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Yes he had a NMC clause, but he never said he only wanted to go to Boston.
He was asked did your NMC come into play, he said yes.

Understandable
But that was gonna be tough with how the Cap is with most teams
Maybe in the offseason?
Draft is July 23rd |

Sam Bennet's a low cost defensive center. Again, these are the players most valued at the deadline. Always. And it was a bad overpayment from Florida.

Then use those offers to increase Bostons offer?
Seems like a reasonable thing to do? |
