Gaudette is most certainly not an NHL player - CanuckDon
Had hopes at 3LC but clearly he isn't there. Plus an American probably better off in the States anyways lol. Seeyaa Adam. |

"Given what the team and the individual players have one through this last couple of weeks, I don’t expect us to be doing a whole lot at the deadline,” said Bennnig. “I think it’s more the human side of things. They’ve dealt with a lot here the last couple of weeks, getting the virus themselves and it running through families."
“I just don’t think it’s the right thing to do at this point in time"
makes an excuse to not make any trades and be quiet at the deadline, and proceeds to make an extremely sell-low trade which makes little to no sense. |

He is the one inch taller version of Motte. - manvanfan
So she must be 5’10”.
I’m not buying it. Dude is another shrimp.
Welcome to Vancouver! Hated by half the fan base before ever playing a game, and expected to be great by the other half (who will ultimately also hate you within a year)

He cleared an anti-masking Trump supporter out of the room. Also, he was too skinny. |

It's kind of like saying Tanner Pearson is the type of guy you need for tough, grindy seasons and then a couple minutes later saying Tanner Pearson has had a bad year because of how tough and grindy the season has been. |

the only logical thing I can think of, is that Benning and company aren't sold on Gaudette as a NHLer, and because hes an RFA this summer, would rather get something for him now, than let him walk for nothing.
Taking on an AHL contract in a 1v1 is just selling so freaking low on a NHLer who just last year posted 12 goals and 33 points. There is absolutely no higher time to sell on him than now, but instead, this is probably about as low as you can sell, considering he couldn't even get a draft pick and had to absorb a contract - Codes1087

lol was Gaudette both of those things? I am so far removed from the personal lives of these players.
I didn't mind Gaudette, I thought he could fit in as a cheap bottom 6 winger, and thought his totals last year could fetch a decent return, not this pitiful excuse of a return that we just acquired. |

Here is how I view the trade. Canucks weren’t going to qualify Gaudette. Very unlikely. Beagle is done. High more sounds like he is fast, plays Center and isn’t a liability. Try him out as your 4th line Center and potentially save $2.25MM in cap space on the 4th line. If he doesn’t earn the job, we didn’t lose anything except salary - CanuckDon
Motte to 3rd line and Highmore to 4th? Do we really like line designations? lol |

Highmore was one of the surprise highlights of the "gifted" Blackhawks playoff experience last year. But even then, he also was prone to creating scoring chances against. The guy hustles and Motte is a good comparative, though Highmore has had more chances with the Hawks than Motte was ever given, and we saw how that worked out.
You have to question though how Highmore was not able to crack the Hawks bottom six this year. This Hawks team has been overachieving on the strength of surprise goaltending. The team isn't very good beyond Kane, Debrincat and Kubalik and a couple of the kids
Gaudette sounds an awful lot like Alex Nylander without some of the elevated expectations.

He was definitely dumb, but I don't remember ever seeing him say anything Trump related, could be wrong though, I never tuned in to any of his Call of Duty streams |

Matthew Highmore has taken 4 face-offs over the past three seasons.
He is a winger, not a centre. |
