Big haul for sure, but he is only 26.. HUGE body who can score and is signed for next 3 years at $5.7. - niteislander
Perhaps I’m alone in this, but I’d rather have Vrana over Mantha. |

Agreed. I hated playing against him, plus he is younger and has been more productive then Manta so far, No? |

Definitely more productive at evens. That being said, Mantha has played on a very bad Wings team.
Still, I think all things considered I’d choose Vrana. |

So, Hall would only waive his NTC to go to Boston. Kinda held them back from getting something more for him. Eh, whatever. |

I'd at least rather have Vrana and all that other stuff over Mantha. |

Makes one wonder if his performance on the Sabres was regression/bad luck or that he literally just didn’t give a (frank). |

Certainly. I love this deal from Detroit’s end. |

I actually liked Zajac there I think trotz gives him a little more time in that spot. As far as Beau going there I’m fine with that I thought Beau, Barzal, and Ebs were pretty dynamic for a period when they were together last season and previous. We now have the horses to do that and still be able to spread out the scoring. - Cptmjl
I hate how all the lines are set up right now, but that's just me thinking they're not properly balanced with shots - all rights, all lefts and all rights. I'm not a fan of Zajac's offensive ablilities, but to each his own. Would prefer Beau or even giving Bellows another shot. I actually thought he did well and isn't a defensive liability. He works his ass off, finishes checks, shoots, and backchecks. |

Good news! Only paying DP for another 8 years - eichiefs9
Everything is great here and can’t we just trade his contract?? I know more wishful thinking. Ok likes should be
Eberle. Barzal zajac or palmeri
Beau. Nelson And anyone who is not named Bailey
Whalstrom Pageau and either palmeri or zajac
And the usually fourth line guys |

There wasn't really a "top line LW" available though. Hall would have been in most years but he's all of 2 goals on the season. Outside of that, Palmieri was probably the next best winger out there and he definitely fits what this team thrives on a lot more than Hall does.
I think it was pretty obvious that we weren't taking on anyone with term unless money went out the door and clearly everyone else thinks of Komarov the same way we do here - eichiefs9
Agreed, I guess I was just hoping Lou would pull something off. All in all, I agree we got the best fit for our team in acquiring Palmieri and a good depth forward in Zajac. |

You are making to much of this as far as how effective the lines are or can be based on 3 left shots on a line or right shots. Nelson Bailey and Beau have been together and been very effective offensively. There’s always 2 of the same on any given line and having 3 is not a huge hindrance in the o zone imho. It honestly makes a bigger difference in the d zone. |

Bailey??? Huh?? What?? Have you seen that clown play. He holds the pick for at least ten seconds or more on power play before he passes to no one. He won’t shoot a puck to save his life. Maybe he doesn’t k ow how I don’t know. Is afraid of any contact. Most the time he is a statue. Actually I think he is a statue |

That’s your opinion. I don’t think he deserves the criticism that he gets on here. He’s tied for 3rd in scoring on the team and think he’s playing well. Does he make mistakes or turn over the puck. Hell yeah. Some of the HB favorites TO the puck and make mistakes but there isn’t much said about that. I mean some times poopty goals become fluky and TO become others on the ices fault. It pretty comical.
But I know I am in the minority on here so fire away Girls |

Moved to Florida and actually helped the islanders out. Since I moved they have done amazing. Still hate Dipietro. Are we still paying that clown?? To me the islanders are set right now. Still hoping something happens with Bailey like maybe aliens abduct him or something but that’s wishful thinking - kasperrko
It took you 4 months to move and get wifi or figure out your cell phone to post on here? Unacceptable and not the dedication we are looking for here on hockeybuzz. That's a 4 beer penalty |

Like I said he’ll be ok don’t worry man but he still sucks and makes our powerplay exponentially worse. Move on I’ll never agree with you. It took me years to dislike the guy I’m not letting it go so easy. |

I liked Zajac too he's good on d can actually make a tape to tape pass and shoot a puck passed to him. He also lost the draw in ot and jumped the d man and allowed barzal to poke it out and make a pass. Leo can't do any of that |
