I wouldn't trade Z either if they were only offering a 6th. Let them have the old man who's not a rfa. - BetweenTheDots
I would’ve added a 6th to get them to take Z. |

shocking, I know. Sue me. I don't like slow players who refuse to keep his feet moving. Watch how often he is just reaching instead of moving his feet. |

So does Gaudette make Strome more expendable? A better skating version of the same defensively lacking C? - Ogilthorpe2
I like the addition of Gaudette, he' shaving an off season in Vancouver but he's not alone in that regard. He could be an ideal 3C if he returns to his 19/20 form and builds from there.
I'm assuming Kane will give up #88 for Gaudette, that would be the right thing to do.
Stan did some good work to get more picks to, the 2nd in 21 and 3rd in 22 have value, plus upgrading from a 5th to a 4th for next to nothing was slick. I could see Stan flipping a 4th in 21 with a 6th or 7th for a 3rd in 21. |

Patience, plenty of gm's think he's a good player, they'll probably expose him in the expansion draft with deHaan |

The Hawks are down to 47 contracts, will Stan now turn his attention to European free agents? |

He has (2) 2nds for this season and experts believe the 2022 draft is deep. Keep the 3rd for next season.
There is an interesting story out there about Gaudette and his inability to add weight until very recently. |

Doubtful, he's been busy lately and may need a nap. |

Similar to Richard Dent needing a bunch of root canals when drafted by the Bears. Put on 40 pounds and the rest is history. |

So, you really like a player who you believe chooses not to play defense and is at best meh on offense. |

Yep, and he wanted him traded, too.

Goes beyond that. He had stomach issues going back years. Finally found out what it is, they didn't name it in the story, and he seems to have found a solution.
He is a lottery ticket for Highmore. Seems to have some talent and I do recall him being a pain in the ass against the Hawks when they played the Canucks.
He works out. Great. If not, oh well. |

Well if he can get a 2nd and 3rd for Janmark, i imagine he'll be able to do the same with Strome next year. I really like all the layers of picks and prospects Bowman is creating, who knows maybe they'll make Gaudette a wing to |

Yep. Except Janmark was actually better on the PP but both equally suck at EV.
Most Hawks chart are going to look that way because of SATs but those two are especially bad. |

Have not noticed it with Kurashev at all. If he does it once in a great while, that doesn't bother me because he wins his share of boards battles. |

I am a large fan of this lottery ticket approach. Imo they will need some 2nd thru 4th types to play like 1st rounders. Your point earlier about having scouted these lottery tickets is important, I think. Acting like they have a plan. |

Trust me. I get no joy in having players I don't like. I want Strome to be a huge steal at his cap hit.
If he would just keep his feet moving he would be much better. He has the hockey IQ to do it. |
