Best Bowman trade deadline in awhile. Getting anything for Highmore and getting his worthless ass out of here was great. Gaudette was on the outs in Vancouver because his wife was vocal on social media about the Canucks organization and the Covid debacle. He will have the rest of the year to audition to see if we offer him another contract.
Sodoberg for Rolston and a echl. I was hoping for a pick or take Gilbert back over these guys but whatever.
Janmark was a great trade.
Now I would send down Kurashev he has skill but he's in a slump and gain his confidence back in Rockford who don't have a lot of scorers just a bunch of pedestrian players who aren't going no where. I havent watched a lot of Rockford games but the numbers don't lie.
Chad Krys must be hurt with limited games but doesnt look good for a 23 year old.
Dmitri Ospiov brings some toughness to the team to protect the assets. But he isn't that good and they have a better younger version of him in Indy Darian Skeoch that should fill the enforcer role as a 7th d or 4th line winger with Riley Mckay riding shotgun at center or opposite wing.
Soderlund can skate that's about it. His numbers arent impressive and everygame i've watched he's been a ghost. Chalupa is another guy. Most the Europeans on the roster are getting outplayed by the NA fa's we've picked up Wilkie and Busdekecer.
The one fa that has struggled has been Yetman he should be in the Echl because if he's not a top 6 forward he's in the wrong spot.
Last years big pickup Gagne hasn't played a lot but he hasn't been good.
I would send Kurashev down to play with Pirri. Maybe call up Barrett for a game to let him make his NHL debut and then play Reese johnson Entwistle and Hardman the rest of the way. See what they got add a physical element.
The only guys I wish Bowman would have traded that are still on the roster are Carpenter and De Haan lines for the rest of the year
lw c rw
Debricant Dach Kane
Strome Suter Kubalik
Hagel Gaudette Hinostroza
Kampf at center and Connolly, Johnson, Entwistle Hardman
LD RD
Keith Boqvist
Zadarov Murphy
Kalynuk Stillman with De Haan in sparignly or call up from rockford
And for all you callingh for Beach he's lighting up the Germany equivalent of the echl. Id bring him back for a Rockford run for entertainment can't be worse then Gagne or Quennville

Zadorov is trash. Hopefully tonight is just the first in a long string of healthy scratches for him. |

I guess I have to revise this.
The Hawks a chance to draft a younger brother who is a C-W in the 2nd round this year:
Corey’s son and younger brother of Riley [I]Chase Stillman who plays for the Florida Panthers, is an impressive package of speed, skill and hockey sense. Plays for his father’s Sudbury Wolves. Corey is the Wolve's head coach. Chase received no power play or penalty kill time with the team in his first year. Displays strong puck skills, effective edging, and defensive commitment. Doesn’t over-think his offensive side, sticking to more simple offensives plays, but more than willing to cause devastation with chains of rolling forechecks to take back pucks. Has excellent lateral movement and will pull off the wall quicker than the pile. Uses tight turns in scrums and will cutaway from the opposition while gliding away. Strong recognition and defensive commitments where he picks up the open man and gets between the attackers and his goalie. Works his bags off, and plays big. His open ice aceleration and and top gear will need some improvement. A trench type player who forced more ice time on a veteran OHL club. 2020 was his first OHL season and didn't miss a beat. |

The Hawks are down to 47 contracts, will Stan now turn his attention to European free agents? - DarthKane
Mathews 32 goals in 41 gp would average out to 64 in 82 gp.
Wonder how Caulfield does. He has been scoring in AHL.
Correction tonight with goal #32 but it is their game # 42 |

Usually when something like that happens the guy who got attacked receives a penalty. I’m happy the refs didn’t try to even it up and penalized only the aggressor. |

Old time hockey. I hope Stan is paying attention. Hawks could use some red ass like that. |

Yeah I agree I totally expected that to happen because Murphy's gloves did come off but he was literally getting mauled he had no choice. Good call by the refs, too baad Kane couldn't bury that one. |

Think Eddy wanted a review on that one also - vabeachbear
Eddie’s a moron.
I wish he’d take a job elsewhere. Maybe ESPN hires him full time. Then we’d only have to listen to him occasionally. That would make me a happy human. |
