Kalynuk, Dach, Hagel, and Lankinen on the ice for that HUGE OT win.
How good does that feel. - TommyHawk
Whom is your pick to finish third in NHL scoring? Two points each tonight for Kane and Mathews. They remain tied in third place. |

That means someone else is uncovered. - paulr
It does but if the Hawks could aim at the net as well as sticks, they would average 8 goals a game.
The rest of the team needs to take the pressure off Kane. Make them come to you. Use Kane as a decoy once in a damn while. |

#61 is having a tough night. At least he tripped Laine after he scored. - scottak
I would call it uneven. He made some good plays and some bad ones. You could see he was confused a couple of time as to where to go.
Positioning was poop on the 2nd goal I think it was when he let the guy get behind him |

It's amazing how one bad pass like Cats with one minute left can suffocate your team in your own zone. Luckily into OT - BetweenTheDots
He was not alone in that regard tonight. I call them Steeger passes.
Dach was terrible tonight. Aside from his assist. He was gliding all over the ice. |

Totally agree. Dach not impressing me at all so far. He says he's still feeling pain in that wrist but the doctor's cleared him so he might as well play.
On the bright side, I really like what I see from Kalynuk. He's solid and I'll give Cudos to JC for using him in OT. His crossing in front of the net created the Hagel goal.

Why double shift Kane in the 3rd period with Kampf as his center. They don’t generate offense. All they do is wear out Kane. |

Dach seeming back to his regular season play from last season, before his breakout in the bubble.
Boqvist with concussion symptoms, deHaan tweaked his hip pointer from last game. |

I think it's going to be Kaner. No bias whatsoever .
But seriously, Matthews is just sizzling right now. He'll cool down a bit. Not sure he can sustain a scoring race - right now - with Kane now that Kirby is back. You know the 'Hawks are going to keep clawing for the postseason.
How about you JHawk? |

Connolly has not been told yet that instead of shooting you have to pass it to Kaner. Check the replay. |

Maybe , noteworthy: Maxim Shalunov scored his 10 goal in the KHL playoffs to help his CSKA team move to the finals for the second year in the row. Will Stan give him a tryout? |

If he does, it better be next year, and not this season. I heard Shalunov wants to play this season if he comes over. That would make him a UFA this summer. |

He would not qualify to play this season because his contract with CSKA does not expire until end of May. |

Imagine how much of a steal they thought they got when they drafted him in the 8th round. Wasn't Tyrone Keys like the 11th round?
And pretty sure he was drafted by Jim Finks. - vabeachbear
Tobin was head scout. Finks drafted Hampton for sure. I was surprised when Keys was cut they never really explained that? He appeared solid as a backup.

This is a tough call and I would be interested the reasons others on the board base their answer upon.
Obvious first reaction is, Marner feeds Mathews and whom any good feeds Kane? Kane has been playing crap past couple weeks but he still manages to get scoring oppotunities. Mathews is sizzling - right you are - and he could continue right through end of season.
Actually if Boqvist is out a few games the defense is worse and Kane may have less opportunity. One could argue, no Boqvist = fewer opportunities for the team as well.. Maybe if Kane and Boqvist are often part of five man unit.....then Kane scores more
I would prefer to see what others say before I give a final answer. Unfortunately right now I think the odds are better for Mathews than Kane. |

Can you grade on a curve? Not only does Kane play on a much weaker offensive team, IMO, the teams Kane plays against have much better defenses than the North division. |

Dent and Bortz in the 8th round. Look at that '83 Draft. I know getting Sayers and Butkus in one draft goes down as best ever, but I'd argue 83 was their best ever. |
