I think these are two nice deals.

I thought Vegas needed more forward speed, and the 'hawks, who were looking for a 3rd to replace theirs got a late second this year, so nice.

I do not know if he is staying, but I have liked Adam Gaudette each time I have iso ed on him.
If he wasn't covid patient zero, he was definitely college forward zero, as a scoring centremen who wasn't grasping the back end defensive duties well enough to still be part of the attack.
Then they (like Nikki Borgström) got moved to be a 3rd line scoring winger. Besides being "trained" as a centre the change came without the benefit of regular line mates, and so his scoring production dwindled.
There is a a scorer there somewhere...not sure but maybe the JC defensive system makes less mental work.

Although Sakic has improved the team this time. You're right Vegas goaltending is better..Vegas try to do against Avalanche what Dallas did against Avalanche last season.

When the smoke clears if that is what the deal is, Stan did a great job. I also like the Gaudette trade- love Highmore's tenacity, but Gaudette will be the better player when all is said and done.

Well after grabbing Carter that sort of deal is at draft time. Exact parameters unknown but it is an idea.

Have to ask Rick if Joe Thornton is reduced to holding the door for line changes....and the token powerplay on second unit.
