Yup, definitely addition by subtraction. I wonder if he finds the bench when Caggiula plays as I don't know what other forward would come out. - Slump Buster
since sheahan will not be on the team next year, my guess is he gets the rest
unless Ruotsalainen goes back to rochester |

Depends how bad Sheahan is hurt to, he did leave last night. |

I like the way the team plays without Eichel. Him, Risto and Sam being traded would bring a boatload of youth I would like to see what Granato does with that. We really can change this team and culture around this offseason. |

I can’t remember the rolston take over. Did that team show as much battle with that coaching change?
Was Ralph THAT bad?
Is Granato going to be good?
Or is Granato looking better because Ralph was that bad...
I just keep liking Granato. Get him a really strong, seasoned offensive assistant to run the pp and let Donny run... - Gr8daygo
I don't know Bud, teams always seem to pick it up a little after a coaching change. And Ralph was just that bad. And not surprised with Granato, everything I have read about him, the guy has won everywhere he's been, he has just had some really bad luck in his life. |

I think it is two things. First, the compete is certainly there. The guys bust it up ice as a unit and that's really great to see.
Second, the skating. Guys that can skate are flourishing and guys that can't are not. I think there would be some addition by subtraction by removing some of these guys that can't go so that you have 4 lines that can really motor.

Instead imagine Jack taking on the other team's best defensive players on the first line and sheltering Cuz and Mitts. You've got the makings of a great top 9 in that case.

Nah, you are false. Eichel has been hit from behind more than any star in the league.
On top of that nothing is done when it happens so it continues to happen game after game

This happens to Jack Eichel 10 times a season or more. How's his neck doing? - sabresfan69

Don't see him getting more than Demko money though |

Eichel needs to be all in then. It’s going to be a bumpy road, but we’ve finally got a core that can be successful. If we can lead like a leader/Captain, and adams can find the right compliment this summer, than we really do need him |

$5.7 per is high, especially with him getting injured...again
i like the idea of a 2yr./$9.75M...gotta prove he can 1.) stay healthy and 2.) become a steady 45-50 game starter...the two go hand-in-hand with him |

I think in this example you're paying him more to lessen the term, which I like. That would hopefully allow you to reassess in 3 years and ideally let UPL take it over on a rookie contract.
And if he does turn out to be injury-prone you're not tied to him for 5 or 6 years.

Ullmark is very important to this teams success.

first year under ralph, jack was all-in with the best performance of his career while carrying the team on many occasions...the influx of youngins this seasons proves (to me at least) that he was the driver on a team full of important players who turned out to be complimentary players (to varying degrees) |
