Being an 'associate' GM, he will bring a lot of the missing knowledge to Kevyn about hockey specific decisions, and probably directly assist in making those decisions, like a partner instead of an assistant. I think Kevyn is, or can be, a very useful President or vice or whatever for the organization. I just don't trust him, yet, on the ground level like I would a guy like Karmanos. He's the kind of guy that had the exact same career path as Brandon Beane. Which makes the hiring as unsurprising as it is interesting.

If the Pegulas lucked into Adams/Karmanous and whoever they hire as coach become the Sabres version of McBeane and the Pegulas stay out of their way then I would be super happy.

I'm looking forward to this one actually. I hope someone kinda digs into why he felt the need to purge 75% of the staff, try it for a year and then build it back up. I think we think we know at least some of that answer, but I'd want to hear it from him.

I like the Karmanous hire.

He has a resume of helping build winning teams. I like Kevyn Adams when he speaks, he just is so inexperienced it is hard to get behind him as someone who can build a winning team.
