I will give him this, he is the toughest guy on the team.

Samuelson soon enough. I agree with some that we need general team toughness. It's not going to be a deterrent for cheap shots against. You really think Kevan Miller gives a flying (frank) about fighting anyone? that's literally what he gets paid to do. And as much as Marchand is a pest and does dirty poop all the time, he takes plenty of poop back. Those guys aren't going to change because it's in their DNA. Having John Scott as a response to Miller getting ran over didn't stop cheap shots. They still happened and still will.

If the Sabres Nor Anaeheim win the lottery and Beniers is gone.

I offer

Sabre First

for

Gibson
Anaheim First
Another piece.

move Ullmarks rights for a 4th to someone.

- ImThatGuy

I would 100 percent do this. And can you explain why Anaheim would? Move up 2 spots from 5th to 3rd for a top 10 or better goalie + isn't exactly smart asset management...

Toughness means toughness and fighting means fighting.

I didn't say anything about fighting. Also people seem to confuse toughness with dirty.

In the 10 games since March 29 the Sabres are fourth in the NHL with 13 points, one point behind the Rangers and Toronto for second place. They're 7th in points percentage at .650. They've averaged 3.60 goals per game which is fourth overall behind Col, Pitt and the NYR

Right my point, and I thought I made it clear, is that even if we have toughness doesn't mean teams are suddenly going to stop taking cheap shots. It will continue. Have a few guys that can give it back would be nice.

Pretty crazy...

If they keep up this pace there is no way you can let Granato walk

Even if they don't keep up that pace but play well the rest of the season, I think he stays

Not sure what your point was cause you quoted my post and then went off about fighting.

My post had nothing to do with fighting. I was talking about toughness.

"went off" saying that Miller doesn't care about fighting, because he doesn't. He doesn't care about tough hits either. That was one point in a paragraph of points, if that's all you took from it then idk what to tell you. I'll make it clearer.

Teams will still play tough against us that have that identity whether we have tough players, fighters, purse swingers, speedsters, or any combo of. Because that's what their teams are designed to do. Having "toughness" however sabresfan69 describes it would not have deterred Marchand from hitting Dahlin. It is who he is. Having a couple of those guys would be nice. And no not the trade Eichel for Wilson crowd.

In going from Krueger to Granato it must have been like Catholic kids going from a staunch task-master hell-bent on hammering home guilt and depravation to a public school of open thought--freedom!

Again toughness is about being able to punish the other team physically.

Not sure why you keep talking about cheap shots and fighting. You seem to be confusing the two.

If you knew what toughness meant then you wouldn't have went off on cheap shots and fighting.

No confusion on what toughness is. Playing through opponents, finishing checks, be physically imposing to the point where the ice tilts your way, and yes sometimes fighting if necessary.

I think you are referring to mental toughness, willingness to push through adversity as opposed to physical toughness like mentioned above. Every player can have mental toughness to do what's necessary.

I've given examples of what I define as toughness multiple times now. You on the other hand just keep using the vague word and saying my definition is somehow wrong.

Nope talking about physical toughness. Like I said not sure why you quoted my post and brought up cheap shots.

I guess because of context and how toughness has been brought up here on and off over the last 3 days.. Debates about Tage being tough or not, people saying if we had tough guys Dahlin wouldn't have gotten hit by Marchand, protect our stars etc etc. Guess it was all part of the bigger picture. But I'll drop it. Everyone just have different definitions of what toughness means as far as hockey goes it would appear.

I don't think Jack needs to speak until locker cleanout day. He needs to address his feelings about this franchise.

Im sure we could go back to last years cleanout and it will be the same speech lol.
