It's true. After the Briere/Drury thing, Vanek, Roy, Afinogenov, Hecht and Pominville were about the only players on the team worth a damn. Everyone else showed up half the time, was old as the sword in the stone, constantly hurt or in the case of our goalie, constantly crying in his corner being an anti-social weirdo and pretending like his wife has an actual career in Hollywood and he's "an Olympian" man what a god damn jerk that dude was.

I would add MacArthur to the short list and Teppo

And he worked his ass off to get back in the lineup because he had 1 thing Eichel doesn't: Heart.

I've already done my Eichel vs. Roy take. Seems an ancient lurker agrees.

Derek Roy may have been a power-bottom, but he had heart and he was always one of my favorite Sabres.

Too bad Vanek/Roy/Afinogenov had to jump from being the best 3rd line in the league to being a 1st line with a cry-baby goalie and a made-of-glass supporting cast and a weak ass defense.

I hated Pominville as a captian and he still was a better leader than Eichel with his generic, gag-inducing takes after crushing losses like "The other team wanted it more" and "We didn't work hard enough" yeah no poop head of pube-hair, now go tuck your gold chain into your jersey and eat your vanilla ice cream.

That rumor has been around for a few weeks.

The rumor was that he was in drug rehab in Colorado.

This was basically a rumor from another site with the guy “in the know”

- Sabretooth9

Just wow he was in Colorado for the doctors

I can't with these people

Green Tea Hagen Daas.

Also, Lake Effect Ice Cream up in Lockport is an artisan ice cream shop and they make a loganberry, an earl grey, a black sesame... tons of incredible ice creams.

Full disclosure: I am from a Catholic family so don't report me for this please, Fitz.

ROR is a daddy's boy little Irish mitch Catholic wiener alcoholic choir-boy fake as they come hipster beard douche-bag. ROR also wasn't the captain - That's what my point is. I didn't like the company man personality of Pominville. I get why his team mates chose him as captain, but I grew up with Michael Peca, Stu Barnes, LaFontaine before them as my captains... Stu Barnes was my favorite player until Afinogenov and if you can find the interview after we traded Barnes to Dallas - He was absolutely devastated and almost in tears the entire time.

Pominville after being traded? It was the same ho-hum Pominville. I mean, Ryan Miller basically emerged from his cocoon in front of us and turned into a giant ball of sunshine and hasn't stopped smiling since and I hate him even more for it because he's a phony wiener but he still showed some god damn emotion.

Pominville is that dog drinking the Sabres kool-aid while everything around him burns. He's the 'just happy to be here' guy.

Grade A hipster answer.

I will say I agree with your and Lacaprup’s takes on Eichel. How did he get hurt by the way? He hadn’t played hockey for close to a year. Granato coach, Rinehart gone, Eichel gone is my dream off season. That would be a team to get psyched for.

Eh, idk what's with this hipster stuff from you all of a sudden...

Last I checked Sade, Hall & Oats and The Alan Parsons Project weren't exactly hipster material but what do I actually know about anything?

But anyway, this whole Eichel thing is starting to get Twilight Zone levels of weird.

Let's run this down:

Jack Eichel's 2021 season

"Hurt" in training camp. Injury not disclosed. Wasn't practicing with team.

Ready for the season opener.

2 weeks into the season "playing injured". Team is mum about it for a few more weeks until...

Ralph Kreuger, the coach of the Sabres, gets caught lying about when/where Eichel was injured. Eichel himself is confused about the comments when asked. Ralph does not double-down, he does his "Chewbacca" presentation again.

A few games later, a guy barely shoves Eichel from behind, he grabs his neck and skates to the locker room.

The team proceeds to allude to him possibly being traded, or day-to-day but also they don't know could be long-term, but also is not long-term and he should be back but also is a herniated disk in his neck and he's out for the season and he won't have surgery but he will be ready for next season.

What?

Somethings rotten in the state of Denmark. How bout the comment from Staal earlier in the year about how Eichel can’t be thinking about where he’ll be and needs to be focused on right now that he had to publicly retract because it was being blown out of proportion. Maybe it was, but one more thing to add to the strange events concerning Jack Eichel list. He was adamant about how much he liked Ralph as a coach in off season. It sure looks like it.
